Canada source for tires (shipping from US or Canada)?

Thanks - looks like decent prices too....

Canada source for tires (shipping from US or Canada)?

Hi - just wondering if anyone had a good Canadian source for tires or a U.S. source that ships up to Canada? I've noticed that motorcycle tire prices seem a lot higher "up here" then our friends south of the border have to pay. Quite a few of the U.S. sources I've looked at will not ship tires...

Yamaha Protection Plus - lower negotiated pricing?

Hi - I guess the question is more geared towards Canadian owners but has anyone had success in negotiating a lower price for the YPP program - especially after the purchase and before the one year factory warranty is up? I'm still on the fence on this but I need to decide really quickly as my...

Planning trip from Vancouver Island to Utah

Well, good question...maybe an extra half day on the way down and possibly a day or two on the way back depending on what we end up doing in Utah. Did you have some suggestions? Washington State has some amazing roads. I've almost always been impressed on our trips into Washington State...

What makes the high pitched mechanical whine?

I'm kind of relieved to read this - I had started to wonder if there was a problem with my bike because of the whine. I'm still kinda of new to it!

Planning trip from Vancouver Island to Utah

Hi all - just beginning to plan out a trip from Victoria BC to Utah. Looking forward to it! I'm planning to blast down to meet my brother in Salt Lake City and we'll tour around Utah from there. My Garmin GPS says I5 -> I90 -> I82 -> I84. How is this route in general? Better more...

    Go Cruise Throttle Control

I ordered one and it arrived very quickly (to Canada). It's a bit smaller then I thought it would be. It seems fairly well built although at first I thought it might be a little flimsy. It opens up to slip over the throttle grip. It looks pretty good I think and reasonably unobtrusive. I...

    impressive sliders

Just confirming that they are shipping the new version at the old price. Very helpful on the phone too. I ordered a set.

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

It would just about kill me to ride out there to see that amazing and gifted chiropractor! :D I understand strengthening the core and have been working out fairly regularly with a personal trainer. I fairly regularly see a really good chiropractor as well as acupuncture etc. I'm determined...

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

Mostly the K1300GT. Looks like it is slightly more upright then my bike even when I plug in the risers and lowering the seat. Hmmmmmm.

Or, it could be E. all of the above :clapping:

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

I found the windshield lowered from it's highest position was more comfortable too. An acquaintance and former colleague of mine sold me a brand new larger Cee Bailey (?) wind shield. I plan to put that on this spring too.

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

It's interesting you mention this! I have thought about this a lot. I've spent a lot of time on sport bikes, standards and even dual sport so I thought it must be the bike. I almost bought a BMW last year instead of the FJR but felt I couldn't really justify the extra expense - especially...

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

Do you think a driver backrest would be helpful or does the support belt sort of take it's place?

    FJR Mileage Breakin

The senior mechanic at the shop where I bought my bike said to ride it like you normally would but to not let it get too hot for the first while. Stop and go city driving in light traffic so you can wind it up a bit works well I think.

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

How would the grip puppies work with the stock heated grips? It looks like you have the Kaoka throttle control? Sounds like you don't like it though?

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

Thanks everyone - this has all been very helpful (well, most of it   )! I think my initial plan of attack is to 1) lower the seat 2) adjust the handlebars back and up if possible as well as adjust the throttle tension 3) throttle control/cruise control 4) helibar risers 4)...

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

No, I don't have a throttle lock yet. That's next on my list. I only have about 5,000kms on the bike and it's not all "farkled" up yet. I have to grip the throttle side fairly hard due to the stiffness of the throttle. Might help to reduce that a bit. I usually try to ride fairly relaxed...

Yes, I imagine you will! Take a REAL man to admit it though. And yes, massage helps a bit.

Back Agony - how to deal with it?

WOW. This linked site was very useful. Thank you! It provides a perfect visual of how I am sitting on each of the bikes. I can see exactly why I am getting that nasty pain between the shoulder blades. The FJR has me leaning more forward then my two most recent bikes, plus I think I am...
