Well ealudewig, I have an 08AE and have ridden it 24,000 miles in about two years. First off, it does have a clutch...just not that pesky clutch lever. Many people mistakedly call it an automatic also, which of course, it is not. I'm in a similar situation as you in that I have left foot...

I agree. My Dad was in the British Army during WWII and went to the Isle of Man in 1940 to attend Officer Training. On one of his "leave" days he did the TT Course on a borrowed old BSA (or maybe it was an Ariel) and loved relating of how "bloody insane" the racers of that era must have been...

Got about 300 miles on my new Michelin PR3's and they feel great! Switched from PR2's, which I used for over 13,000 miles...over 50% more mileage than I got on the original Metzlers. The service manager recommended 42 psi front and rear and it seems to be working well. Had the right angle...

I was that fruitcake in 1972, Crash, I did a cross-country on a CB 500/4. Thirty three states, two provinces in Canada and a couple in Mexico...15,000 miles in all and I was totally unprepared. Had a fabulous time however and would love to do it again on my FJR...
