Want Aux. lights to operate off high beams

Dcarver,, YOu bet!. Having others here on the list help is a life saver for me. Working on the wiring tonight. The hardest part (after figuring what goes where) is actually fishing all that wiring into the framework so that it looks professional and not some kind of a hack job. That...

Want Aux. lights to operate off high beams

Hi Fred, Yes, the PIAA wiring harness has an installed relay. So the FJR's yellow high beam wire would be tapped and connected directly to the Piaa "switched power" wire. Is that how you understand it to be? Going as far as you did in your wiring would make my brain smoke. :dribble:

Want Aux. lights to operate off high beams

OK, found the left headlamp socket . With Yellow, Green and Black wires. Do I unravel some of the harness tape at that location? Figuring that the yellow wire is the high beam and that I can use a posi-tap to connect it to the Piaa switched wire... Is that correct?

Reasons NOT to purchase Power Commander V ?

Rob (RAT) Awesome to hear that your set up is A1! That's fantastic. If I decide to drop the cash, I'll have to send you a note to see exactly how they set up your fuel map. From what I hear, those guys at Fuelmoto are top notch!! Eworth

Reasons NOT to purchase Power Commander V ?

escapefjrartist, Yes, the ECU recall was taken care of. Same here concerning gas mileage. I'm willing to give some up to fix "issues" with the FJR but not just for more horsepower or performance related benefits. It has plenty for me as it is. :yahoo:

Made a video of my 1500 mile ride in 36 hours

Ha! Ya, saw several Harleys on the side of the road. A few were with problems. others being pulled out of the trailers when the scenery improved enough and to ride the last couple hundred miles. MANY more were on trailers that no doubt didn't see pavement until Sturgis. Eworth
