I resemble your remarks Leprechaun and agree with "gary"; I'm a 'senior' so that may explain some of my problem but I trade some discomfort for the exhilaration of the feejer. I don't do many long distant rides (anymore) but I'm good with that.

Torque gets you going, H/P lets you go fast(er); for all legal speeds (and above) the Harley will take you there. If a Harley is what you want, I say, go for it. That being said, personally, I like Harleys, and if conditions were favorable I'd own one myself.

Since it does not have the washer it is not a bolt that secures anything that is painted. I would look at a hard plastic location. Also seeing that the bolt has an approximately 1/4" shaft (no threads), it may go through a rubber grommet'd hole. I will surely yield to the 'gurus' of the forum...

...............and remember, even if the filter goes into bypass, the oil that is provided the engine is still filtered (previously filtered, so still clean), just not currently being filtered. So unless the filter is in bypass an inordinate amount of time, there should be no problems.

I believe, from previous threads, that the top speed of the FJR is in and around 155 mph; it is drag limited.

Battery (check) first, starter (second); heat soak does appear to be a factor. Also, leaking injector could help complicate compression lock, if that is the cause. But you're right; replace the battery, especially if determined weak.
