My dad was killed in a motorcycle accident 07/29

So very sorry for your loss. Losing a dear loved one so suddenly brings overwhelming grief and unanswered(unanswerable?) questions. Life is so short sometimes. Thanks for taking the time to explain the story to us. I hope that process is helping you and your family cope with this tragic loss...

Anyone know this bike in LA/E. Long Beach?

I would check a few things: Was first valve clearance check/adjustment performed? Has the Throttle Position Sensor recall been done? Has the weak Cam Chain Tensioner been replaced? That rear tire doesn't look like a Michelin to me, but whatever, it looks fairly new, Dunlop Maybe? Its a very...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Spooned on some T30 EVO GT tires for upcoming 1000 mile ride later this week. Also mounted two of the same on my brother's FJR. Mounting four T30s in one afternoon is a workout!

What did you do to your FJR today?

ref post (Fred's) #6628: I believe those are 10mm (standard hex size for 10mm body is 14mm) bolts holding the centerstand bracket on. Possibly 8mm, definitely not 6mm. I think I bought 35mm long ones. Maybe 40mm and cut them to fit. They don't need to be high strength bolts.

    Best Risers? (Gen 3)

Another Helibridge fan here. The rearward move of the bars and slight height increase made a big difference for all day comfort. I think the bar ends end up being slightly wider too which helps with control. I've ridden slab, country sweepers and tight twisties with the Heli-Bars and suffered...

What did you do to your FJR today?

I washed mine this weekend. I can cross that off the list for 2017.

FOBO TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) -- GROUP BUY

I installed the FOBO T-Stems without removing the tire from the rim. I did break the bead on one side and clamped the tire to the other side in order to expose the inside of the OEM stem to cut it off. Then installed the T-Stem. Then re-balanced the wheel as the T-stem adds noticeable weight...

    Any favorite front tires?

Iggy has pointed you to some very good info you'd definitely benefit from. But if you're looking for a quick answer, I'll offer that the Bridgestone T30 EVO has become a favorite for me as it keeps it rounded shape a good long while, no triangular tendencies. Life is respectable and handling...

What did you do to your FJR today?

I rode mine to work again today. From a wooded scenic location near Bethel ME. Played hooky yesterday afternoon to ride the Kanc, Bear Notch Rd, Hurricane Mtn Rd and Evans notch. All in fairly good shape. Stopping was highly discouraged however as the black flies were extremely hungry.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Fred, I did the same as Dave mentioned above. It may have been a Campbell-Hausfield?? the actual motor and compressor take up about 2 x 5 x 3 inches IIRC. Its still in the bike. It fit easily under the passenger seat, aft of the Givi 357 crossbar and partially below rear tail lights. My...

    Tire Pressure Monitor

I have the FOBO system (with T-stems) on both bikes. When I go out to the garage in the morning, I turn on the fobo app on my phone and read all four tires' pressure (and temp) in about 30 seconds. If a tire needs adjustment the T-stem makes it easy-peasy. And battery changes (about once a...

    I.C.E. tags.... Any interest?

For a while I had a little plastic 'pillbox' kind of thing on my jacket with emergency contact info. But I have a couple jackets, etc. I was talking to an EMT one day about ID's etc. He said most EMTs look for wrist bands like MEDIC ALERT in case the injured has diabetes, epilepsy, allergies...

    Sales video, Japanese. Pretty good.

OK, the perfessor tells me that that is an autoshift model and that is how it is on the non clutch lever bikes. Thanks Mr. 'beam.

    Sales video, Japanese. Pretty good.

At 1:06 in the video, there's a close-up of the engine casing where the shift pattern diagram is located. It clearly shows the shifter sequence as: " N 1 2 3 4 5 6". Why would that be? Can anyone in US confirm the US 2016+ bikes have the traditional (stateside anyway) 1 N 2 3 4 5 6 pattern...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Dave, I'm a sissy. If it was a light rain and forecast called for clear skies in the afternoon, I would have done it. But I have a perfectly good commuter car for cool rainy days. And I'm a sissy.

    Headlight bulb replacement

Just completed a headlight bulb change on a 2014. Did it from below, without removing plastics. I had my doubts but it is possible. Only a small about of blood was lost. Took about 30 minutes this time. Probably 15-20 next time.

    2005 FJR drains batteries

Last year when I bought my 2014, I sold my well cared for 2005A to my little brother (he's more like the size of Fred, so he's not really little, but that's besides the point). I had done many electrical farkles over the 12 years of ownership and never really had a problem of any kind...

    Pinlock Earplugs?.....feedback appreciated.

I've been using the S-plugs wired into my Sena 10 for a couple months now. So far so good. The S plugs do a decent job of knocking down the ambient noise, maybe a s good as the 33db Howard Leight foam plugs I like. The real benefit to the S-plug is hearing the Sena output. Its much better...
