What's the buzz, tell me what's a happening

Have nothing to add, Fred, other than this topic is the only thing I hate about my bike, and I've tried a lot of things to fix it. Sucks.

Going rates for 16,000 mile service?

Update: I emailed the owner yesterday, expressing my shock, and the general manager wrote back, apologizing and stating that the estimator had used an industry standard labor quoting system that was "way off". The price dropped from $1560 to $966, but that is for the valve check and the 600 mile...

Going rates for 16,000 mile service?

This place used to be reasonable; and by "reasonable", I mean "not batshit crazy". I think they were quoting a little over $800 for the valve check and a 4K service combined a year or so back. Maybe they want me to buy a new bike, rather than spend over $1700 for service on mine. Maybe they can...

Going rates for 16,000 mile service?

Good lord! I just got quoted $1200 on the 26,600 valve check by the stealership closest to the house. Plus parts! And that is just for the valve check, it's another $360 for the 4K increment... Plus parts!

    NAFO 2016 Official Thread

Okay, I was just curious. If I make it up there across the boring area of west and north Texas, it'll be pulling a trailer, and I have absolutely no pride!

Selling a bike on Craigslist is an interesting adventure

+1 Our neighborhood has a big trash day twice a year. Or, as I like to call it, "Wealth Redistribution Week". Set something on the curb, and it will be picked up by the city garbage truck by the end of the week. What really happens is that it disappears long before the city rolls by. The worst...

I guess I don't understand the truck/trailer storage question. It looks like there is plenty of room in the parking lot of the hotel, no?

    spinal injections

Good luck with that. I had a 'scrip, and took one, on two separate occasions. The first was to help with the pain, the second was to figure if the total fog thrown on me the first time was for real. I can see why people get addicted to these kinds of drugs... ETA: Trying to use this forum on...

Favorite Communicator Uclear, Sena, Cardo, GMRS, What?

Sena 20S. The first one was junk, with ridiculously short battery life. Sent it in, they mixed up my RMA number with a woman's from Missouri, who was getting warranty work on her 10. She wasn't getting hers back, I wasn't getting mine back, and the final straw was when some doofus called and...

    spinal injections

+1 I had all three of those shots you mention, except mine was three sessions, with 4 shots in each session. Pretty f'ing painful, and only worked for awhile. I have three herniated discs, can't get a doc to operate, so just deal with it. Two funny things about the last series of shots: When...

Losing my M/C Racing Virginity - MotoGP or MotoAmerica

I was out yesterday, running around in the Seton cart. Won't be out today; moved into a new house a couple of weeks back, and need to hang my garage cabinets. If you are out walking the support paddocks, don't let the d-bags selling that Blaze Defogging ***** "clean" your shades for you. I did...
