I have gone 7000 miles with my standard-sized Dell laptop packed and have had no problems. From 40 to 108 degrees. I bought the smallest laptop case I could find and then wrap that in a plastic garbage bag. It fits perfectly in the Yami trunk...FLAT about half way up. I just fold my softest...

  Exactly. I have mine sitting right in front of the stock speedo...which I dont really use anymore.   My only complaint is the teeny tiny turn signal indicators. The Gen I's are much better.

we did over 7000 miles this summer - two up- much of it multi day w/ all our gear loaded. lots of back roads and twisties...and had no issues. Of course, my wife is 5'1", 115 lbs, so that may make a difference. All in all..a great bike!

And the winner is....ADANIEL! Wire in the throttle assemble was broken. My bet is that installing the G2 began the problem. Soldered/heat shrinked and HOT as hell again. Thanks all.

Will the Vstrom hand guards fit an AE?

IMO they are a must have. We use them constantly....makes checking into the hotel a snap

+1 My previous touring vehicle was a 928 GTS and if an FJR was a car....that'd be the one. 171 mph top end, 50/50 weight distribution but with room for your luggage. It is not intended to be a total performance vehicle...just a bad *** touring machine. Here was mine and, to me, it even looks...
