The Jerkiness of Jerky Motorcyle Throttles

+ 1 on that Dan. My 06, I had to do the throttle tube replacement and do the single turn release on the throttle spring. The 15 using the touring mode for cruising around is very smooth and nice for two up. Ed

New to me 2015 FJR 1300 ES

On a side note, the 300 mile trip was pretty scenic and uneventful, except for one lady that tried to kill me. In the left lane on a two lanes each way highway in Tennessee.  The right lane slowed and this lady swerved into my lane when I was at her rear tire. Grabbed both front and rear brakes...

New to me 2015 FJR 1300 ES

Drove up to Kentucky to pick up a 2015 FJR 1300. Rode it 300 miles back to it's new Georgia home. Nice trip to get acquainted with her. Brought back memories of the 2006 I had, but the 2015 suspension and smoothness is absolutely amazing. Thanks Judy Bates Beckett, for giving up your whole day...

    Headlight Modulator

I am a firm believer in modulators. I am sure they have gotten the attention of many drivers that would have tried to kill me because of talking on the phone, texting, being in a hurry, or just being incompetent, uncaring ********. This also illustrates why carrying your .45 is always a good...

    A few maintenance items

Knocked out a few maintenance items over the last few days. 1) Unauthorized throttle body synch 2) Clutch soak 3) Fluid replacement and bled clutch and brakes Engine runs amazingly smooth. Shifting is slick and smooth. Definitely recommend these procedures if you have not gone there. Not...

2006-2012 Yamaha FJR1300 Factory Comfort Gel Seat ABA-2D221-10-00

I have one of the Gel comfort seats on my 2006 and love it. Much cheaper alternative than custom, looks good, and works. I have done 500 mile days without discomfort from this seat. Ed

    Headlight Modulator

Bill, I have used a Kisan Pathblazer on my 2006 since new and believe it is an excellent visibility tool. It is effective at catching the eye of soccer moms on their cellphones so they don't pull out in front of you or make a left turn through you. I have not had to replace a headlight yet so...

    Clayton, Ga Sighting

Saw a blue Gen1 I think pulling a trailer, followed by several Goldwings doing the same on Sunday. They were traveling South on 441 and turning onto 76 east. Unfortunately I was in my F150 not on my FJR as I had my Labrador along. Highway 76 is some great riding in North Georgia and SC. Ed

Hobby - Gun Stock Refinishing a few examples

John, Nice work there! You have a talent for bringing back the older stuff. It is amazing the character of some of the older stocks that is covered up by years of neglect, oil, grime, etc. I have done a couple of M1 Garand stocks with Linseed oil. Not shiny, but back to the original state...

    What's the best wax?

I like the aerosol S100 stuff. Cuts bugs and polishes nice. I find i am washing the bike with water very infrequently, but use either S100 or Griot's spray on wax. Bike is always clean, but rarely washed with soap and water.

    parking stand choice

Most often use the center stand if leaving the bike out of my sight. In the garage and when trailering, I use a Baxley Sport Chock. They rock! Oil changes, center stand.
