    Grips?

The factory grips have the heating wires IN them, if you were thinking the heaters were under the grips. You can build up the thickness with 2" heat shrink tubing, but the resulting surface is too slippery. You can then wrap with tennis grip wrap. Grip Buddies transfer the heat a bit better...

    Gurgling sound in fuel tank

Gen1's didn't have the foil pad like later Gen's did, so when you stop, heat off the engine will transfer to the tank..... some made up foil pads, surely it would help.

    Spyder

Wow, and it runs so nice and that perty pearl paint........ they do hold their value, and GLWS.

    Torque loss after service.

Ding ding ding.... I think we have a winner..... I just fixed one of those for a buddy a couple of weeks ago. Timing was one tooth off at the crank (i.e. both cams off relative to crank). Gotta pull the valve cover off to verify. I suspect they didn't ty-wrap the chain off at the crank end...

    Fuel gurgling after hot shutdown

Gen1's had no insulating pad between the engine and tank like later years did....... not sure if that's your issue, but could be. If so, it would happen moreso on an almost empty tank vs. a fuller tank.

    06 dies just above idle

Has it been sitting a couple of weeks? Maybe moisture in the fuel...... give it a couple ounces of Seafoam. Clear the codes and see if they come back.

    PCA FJR Rack 04-05 - $100

I have one of these PCA racks, slightly different.... combined with a Givi SR357 your top box will be solidly mounted. I'd recommend it highly.

    Corbin All Day Seat Mod

I've always said if I had a Corbin again, I'd add foam and it would be a great seat. Now if Corbin could just figure that out instead of telling us it will break in........

Wheaton and wifey - North by Northwest

Glad to see y'all southerners didn't get lost, eh...... interesting view of Mt. St. Helen's from the northwest side, as we had gone in from the southeast side.... maybe I'll try that next time. So many rides, so much to see, great peeps in the PNW........

    ABS--Thank You!

Just saw this. Glad you're OK, Spud, coulda been much worse. Relatively cheap part for under $200. I encountered several forest rats on 3 occasions here this past two days, rather rare for these parts. I swear the full sized doe was more than 170 lbs.... lucky they all were askeered and ran off.

1st Hand Feedback Request: Scorpion EXO GT920 Helmets

Obviously can't comment on the GT920, but I tired of my EXO-900 in about a year, kept it for three. Cheek pads compressed and got really loose, it was quieter than some but still loud, air bladder wouldn't hold air, chin guard hinges broke easily 'cuz they were really cheap (replace under...

    Zumo 550 pin outs?

In the past I have revived a couple of cradles... odd however that both the car and bike cradles would crap out at the same time...... remove fuse, work some contact cleaner into the pins, move the pins up and down with a wood or plastic popsicle stick (or similar). Do this a couple of times...

    Frame slider bolt

The good news it's the right bolt where there's a collar held in the frame by a pinch bolt....... likely seized as some have been. They are fine thread. If it was the left one, you'd ruin the aluminum threads. Lesson learned here, use anti-seize on these two bolts.

    Skully Helmets Shutting Down?

I would have thought most would question whether the helmet was a good one, not noisy, may not fit the Shoei, Arai, Nolan, etc. head shapes, and what happens when the dedicated electronics don't live up to expectations........ risky business venture. They should have perhaps ventured into...
