Beemerdons, That was just the right thing to say. If the New ones have this "opec problem" then I would have no problem with a one or two/three year old bike. (If I want to polish and caress and gently hump a bike I'll lavish that on the Feej) My reason for wanting newer is mostly to start with...

The flapping noise is not the chin strap (in my case at least), it's secure, but sounds more like it's somewhere in front of my left knee. The "tinfoil" noise I hear is def coming from between the tank and the shield. Wells, have you any idea where the noise is coming from (general local)? C

Well, Bounce and Sonic both have the right idea. I personally know the artist and his or her reasons for not doing a black bike are as follows: 1) the artist has an 07 and thinks it is the sharpest looking of the bunch, followed by that bluey colored one... then that green european color, then...
