    Hi from Ireland

Welcome! I haven't been to Ireland since '99. when we spent driving around your beautiful country for two weeks on our honeymoon.

    Final Gear Oil Question

I change the gear oil with every tire change, which used to be about 16K miles with the PR2s and PR3s. Road 5s will be lucky to go 10K. My '06 had 129K miles on it when I got rid of it, and still had the original clutch. I put some moly lube on the shaft spline and gear.

    Gen 3 CEL solution?

Only issue from what I've found is that Yamaha uses propriety codes and you need their info to figure out what is what. Codes I've gotten in the past were not standard. There are some hex conversions to try and figure it out, but they didn't really help me. I could clear the codes, though.

In the States, we have to dodge the deer. From remembering our 2 week honeymoon in Ireland, you have to dodge sheep. We loved our time in Ireland!

    MotoGP Sprint Races Televised?

Anyone know if the sprint races are televised in the US? The sunday races are on CNBC and NBC, but I haven't found anything in the schedules for the sprint races. Am I missing something? No, I don't have the videopass.

    My Friend RVNMANIAC Has Passed

I have also known Henry for 20-some years, also back when we both were riding FJ1200s.. I would say I definitely did not know him as well as LukeDagny (also my friend), but well enough to call him my friend. He was a good man. He was a deceptively fast rider in the twisties. He will be missed.

I wonder if Dealership A failed to soak the friction plates in oil prior to installation.

    TPS Source?

I wonder if mine got beat up during the 2nd gear recall work. It surfaced after I got it back.

    TPS Source?

Ah, it was for Gen III.

    TPS Source?

I just replaced mine a couple months ago. Got it from Partzilla. Completely cured the jerky and abrupt throttle response.

    Odd Diagnostic Codes

Update: Changed out the TPS this morning. Checked the calibration against the original's: lower reading was spot on, higher reading was off by a few tenths of a percent. Took it for a test ride. Throttle is now back its buttery smooth goodness that Ivan's reflash brings. No more herky jerky...
