    All Good Things...

Work. It's a four letter word, all right, but it's also a necessary evil. Unfortunately, we all have to do it, or, at least most of us do. I do know that I am very lucky, in that that my work as an audio engineer with World Wrestling Entertainment not only funds my madness, but the schedule...

Bent Rim - Galfer Wave Rotor Advice Wanter

Bent my front rim on a rock the other day, and am thinking of replacing it with a lighter weight one. Anybody have any suggestions as to what a good front rim on a 2006 FJR would be? Thanks!

    All Good Things...

On a long, multi-day motorcycle tour, one of my favorite times of day is early morning, after my mental haze has lifted and I figure out where I am, but before the toll for the previous night's excess is collected. This is the moment where I draw back the motel room curtain, make sure Rain Cloud...

    All Good Things...

The scene of the crime? An innocent place called Drifter's Cookhouse, a great looking place surrounded by the most amazing umm... Flock? Gaggle? Swarm? Or is it, as Wikipedia claims, a... charm? Whatever it is actually called, it was the most amazing bunch of hummingbirds I've ever seen. The...

    All Good Things...

Plans changed, and in a hurry. Monday Night RAW, the WWE's flagship show (and a primary sponsor of these motorcycling adventures), was scheduled to broadcast from the Pepsi Arena in Denver. This convenient venue's close proximity to some very good roads is the reason a lot of the crew planned...

    All Good Things...

... must come to an end, including this long ramble of a ride that started waay back in March with The Road to Wrestlemania. What began in my adopted home of California following the least straight lines I could find to Houston, ultimately, 3140 miles later, landed in the garage of my friend...

    Galfer Wave Rotor Questions

Thanks guys, I emailed Galfer, and they responded that both the ABS and non ABS FJR's use the same rotors, even sent me a copy of the microfiche with identical part numbers, so, I assume it'll work. And, I like a company that responds promptly to emails with a human answering!! Niehart, what...

    Galfer Wave Rotor Questions

Anybody have 'em? Do they work with the Gen II ABS system? Are they worth the (admittedly high) price?

Bent Rim - Galfer Wave Rotor Advice Wanter

Riding the last 15 miles of a 4600 mile trip, I managed to hit a nice, big rock on the 210 freeway, and bent up my front rim pretty nicely. I'm pretty sure the rim needs to be replaced, which is fine. That got me thinking though... while I'm replacing the rim, maybe I'll go for the Galfer...

    Going Down (Under)

I'm still learning about Australia! Evidently there are more forum members in Rhodestralia than there are anywhere else. And, Victoria is the place we must return to, to let them all put us up and show us what real roads are all about.

Mosman, in a fantastic place by the harbor. Some people have all the luck, others have no fear of debt! Welcome to the US of A. If you're ever near the Kingdom of RI, drop me a note!

    Going Down (Under)

Thanks for your kinds words everyone! Australia was great, I just wish we had a few more years to devote to exploring it fully. But, they tell me there are planes flying there every day, and I'm always up for a little time travel now and then, so, who knows, we might just return one of these...

Yass is the answer. The question? Fiona, did you see the king parrot? "Yass!" How about the ring-tailed possum in the tree? "Yass!" And the Koala, which we were informed in no uncertain terms is not a bear? "Yass!" Was dessert good? In unison, "Yass!" Frenchy, want another...

    Going Down (Under)

And on the Third Day, we really started to get our learn on. The first thing I learned was that even for such a big country - (and by big, I mean you could literally fit two-thousand four-hundred and fifty and a half Kingdoms of Rhode Island inside Australia, with a bit of room left over for a...

    Going Down (Under)

It's amazing how big Australia is, and how empty. We rode for hours down the Sapphire Coast the next day without ever seeing another soul, topless or otherwise. Not once did we see a car, no trucks, no cops... nothing but twisty roads, bright sunshine, and... our first kangaroo! Fiona and I...

    Going Down (Under)

Early to bed, early to rise may make a man healthy, wealthy and wise, but all it does for Sleeping Beauty is make her grumpy. Unless, of course, the wake-up call comes from one of Dan's wild-yet-somewhat-domesticated neighbors, the Laughing Kookaburra. The call of these birds sounds a bit...

    Going Down (Under)

One thing I didn't know about Australia before we left - time travel is involved in getting there. Sleeping Beauty and I boarded the United 747 in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening, flew for fourteen hours, and arrived in Sydney on... Friday morning? Does this mean I'm even older now? Ugh. Dan...

Australia. I know a few things about this mythical, far-off land. For instance, I know they play football by their own set of rules. Speaking of rules, their steakhouses apparently have no rules, and are just right. I also remember from a song that 'beer flows and men chunder' in that mythical...

An Audio Guy Tries to Make a Video

I used two GoPro cameras, the Motorsports HERO and the Motorsports HERO Wide. I picked them up on closeout from Circuit City for about $100 each, one of the unintended benefits of the economy swirling around the toilet. The cameras use very inexpensive 2 GB SD cards, come with a surprisingly...
