    ride to Big Bend Texas

Sounds like a great ride. The Big Bend country is like a world of its own. And March-May is the best time to ride it.

    British Blonde stablemate for FJR

May I just touch my tongue to the fairing, like it was a nipple or something?

    Leo's Highway pegs, leodro@verizon

I've been using Leo's mounts since November '07. They connect Kuryakyn (large) ISO folding pegs to my aluminum sliders, which are about the same diameter. I didn't think to use Loctite on the threads of the small allen screws which hold the mounts to the sliders. So when I got to work 2 weeks...

    FJR Sales

I also ride a Gen. II, and get near 50. Even pushing it hard on the freeway (80-100), it will get 42 mpg, at least in warm weather. Cagers are blown away when I tell them.

Anyone here have the Yamaha FJR Comfort Seats??

I've put more miles on mine now, than I did on the originals. The touring saddle is definitely more firm. It does not allow your carcass to settle down in it, as the factory seat does. Your butt and fun-parts stay on top of the saddle. The intial feeling is that the new seat is hard. But on...

    Motorcyclist captures earthquake on video

I must agree that 27,000 people confirmed dead is not a lame issue. It is most interesting that in this type of catastrophe, those individuals who are out in the open . . . . away from man-made structures . . . . are relatively safe, unlike tornadoes, hurricanes, and cyclones.

    Gen II

There's lots to pick from. The Yamaha touring saddle is a gel seat, and is more supportive than the stocker. Then there's Corbin, which is not well received by most FJR people on this forum. That leaves Sargent, the Mayer brothers, and top-of-the-line Russell, to name a few. Just hit the...

Hey, I represent that remark, Jeff. I was born Summer of '42!

    Met a WWII legend yesterday

I worked for a man in Houston for 2 years, who was a co-pilot flying "the Hump", in the bombing of Berlin. He would not discuss the experience, nor was he willing to fly again under any circumstance. On any other subject, he was always a jokester. He also rode a Yamaha motorcycle at very high...

    Center Stand

Another trick is to wear boots or shoes with strong, stiff soles. I found that I can stand beside the bike, and put ALL my weight on the centerstand tab with my right foot. It will stay balanced until you pull it up on the stand.
