    New suspension settings

Posts 232-235 regarding 48 clicks on the rear shock. I have a 2010 (bought May 2011) and the shock on mine also has a range of 48 clicks. I am the first owner of the bike, rolled out the door with 0.0 miles and 15 clicks out on the rear shock. I finally reset my front and rear following this...

I got my Westone ES49 Custom Musician's Earplugs today

I currently use the Howard Leight Max Lite greenies https://www.howardleight.com/earplugs/max-lite and they work very well, especially for a narrow ear canal since they are softer than the orange plugs. I'm guessing that describes me, because I can't use their regular orange Max plugs, bad pain...

I got my Westone ES49 Custom Musician's Earplugs today

I was just looking into this for the first time today, and found this thread. Quite timely. I'm making an appointment for a local audiologist for an ear mold and the Westone units will be the ones I go with. I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there, but I want it done right. Until now I've...

MN Tech Day - May 12th

Tripper Mike- Many thanks to you and your family for hosting The Gang today. As I mentioned to your wife, food always tastes so much better when it comes from someone else's BBQ grill! Here's the website for the Morgan Carbtune. https://www.carbtune.com/ It comes in a 2-gauge version and a...

MN Tech Day - May 12th

Looks like I'll be able to appear but probably won't surface until 12:30-1:00pm at the earliest. I can bring my Morgan Carbtune that I bought a few weeks ago. Of course when I got it I was all jazzed up to learn how to use it, so I did. Installed new spark plugs, too. At idle I've got the 4...

    aerostich guy;s

I've been riding with a Darien suit for 6 years. Over the past couple years I've lost about 20 pounds so last year I thought about replacing the suit with new Darien, or RC, gear. The one-piece Roadcrafter will not fit my body. At 6' tall, I've only got a 29" inseam, and even with in-store...

    Shoei Neotech

Well, I've never seen Skooter, but I'm going out on a limb to say that I have one handsome mug in comparison!

    Shoei Neotech

Yeah, where's the love, right? Let bygones be bygones.

    Shoei Neotech

Skooter, you did catch that I said no second-best helmet for me, right? And by that I meant that regardless of price, I'm going to buy the right gear that meets my needs and performs the way I want it to, no compromises. I do own an HJC, it was my first helmet, and when wearing it it causes a...

    Shoei Neotech

HJC doesn't fit me. Neither did Nolan, Shuebreth, or any of the other modular helmets I tried before finding the Multitec that fit me like a fine glove. Then there is discounting all modulars without metal-on-metal latching hardware. That left, for me, one choice- the Shoei. 5 years and who...

MN Tech Day - May 12th

As "they" say, you can't take it with you. Today I ordered the Morgan Carbtune Pro. Should be here within a couple weeks.

MN Tech Day - May 12th

Do you fellows have any opinion on the Morgan Carbtune? https://www.carbtune.com/ It's about $100 including shipping from the UK. I've toyed with buying one. Some earlier research on this board recommended the Morgan over the Motion Pro because rather than fluid indicators it uses stainless...

MN Tech Day - May 12th

Thanks Mike, I'm going to try hard to make it, and maybe with my friend who is also an FJR rider.

MN Tech Day - May 12th

Hi Fellas- I'd enjoy the change to tag along on tech day, in particular to learn how to do a throttle body sync, either using my bike as a test mule or watching someone else's get the treatment. I'm pushing about 8000 miles on my new-last-year 2010. Would this be fair game? I've got a prior...

    Raise/Lower Windshield Chatter

How timely... Mine has started doing this in recent days. Great.

    Napa torque wrenches

Thanks, Fred. I saw your method on Saturday morning when searching through the boards looking for torque wrench buying advice. Seeing that made the thought of buying the non-pro grade of wrench easier, thanks for sharing that. Oh, and everything got a little dab of blue Lock-Tite as well.

    Napa torque wrenches

This past weekend I installed my new Helibar triple clamp. As such, I needed a torque wrench for a bunch of different fasteners with torque values of around 10-12 ft lbs to up over 80 ft lbs for the bike steering head nut. In my neighborhood I've got a Harbor Freight on one side of the street...

    My new FJR

Well done. Last spring I traded my '07 DL650 for a left-over '10 FJR. Enjoy your new ride.

What did you do to your FJR today?

This weekend- Saturday afternoon, installed my new Helibars. Sunday afternoon, took my first good ride with the Helibars and the new Russell saddle. The bike is one step closer to perfection.
