Motoport Ultra II Cordura 1000 denier

Headline says it all- where is the Ultra II Cordura made? The kevlar jackets are stated on their website as being USA made, but I can't find any reference for where the cordura jackets are made. Of course this question occurred to me last last night (Friday), so I emailed them, but I don't...

    California Scientific -> Cee Bailey

Great information you've passed on, should prove useful to folks in the future. If I may pass on my experience with my Rifle shield (the largest stock size, +5 height, +4 width, if I recall) mounted on my '10 FJR. In the fully lowered position, I have a clean air stream hitting me from the...

    homemade handlebar risers

I made a mock-up from a 3/4" thick piece of wood this afternoon. Won't work. Cables and hoses are now too tight, bolting issues, etc. I'm still designing in my head, but beyond a simple piece of constant thickness aluminum stock to make it from, I'm unable to mill a custom shape with complex...

    Brand New Bike!

200cs- Can you provide more in-depth reasons for the Morgan over the Motion Pro? Just today I'm thinking that I'm going to invest in this tool, and I'd like to understand why one over the other. Thanks for any info you can provide. Looks like I'd be ordering a Morgan Carbtune Pro from England...

    homemade handlebar risers

Patriot's setup for Gen I- yeash! https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=140013 Scroll down about 6 messages. Anyway... Dave- yep, I've already got risers, had to remove the wire loops for the cables and tubes, too. Trying a mock-up from wood should prove what kind of result to...

    homemade handlebar risers

(Don't know if I should have posted this here or in the tech. section. Mod's, move if necessary.) Has anyone built/fabricated your own handlebar risers? I have a set of bar risers right now that do a nice job of increasing height just over an inch, and they come back toward me just a little...

Grip Puppies- do they absorb/hold water?

I just installed my first set of Grip Puppies. Riding to work this morning there were some sprinkles coming down, which made me think- if my bike is parked (or ridden) in the rain for awhile, will the Grip Puppies absorb and hold water? Thanks for your sharing your experiences.

Looked at a "new" 2010 today - did not pull the trigger...Yet!

I bought my new 2010 in May, with some price shopping I got them down to $12,500, and I traded a 2007 Suzuki VStrom 650 which got me $3900 for a 27000 mile bike. That $12,500 was pre-tax and dealer prep, though. They wanted I think $13,700 as it sat on the floor.

    UNBELIEVABLE!

What a bummer! Glad to hear you're okay, and that there's one less oversized rodent prowling the highways. I hope the bike is returned to normal quickly and that you're back to riding soon as well. Last summer, heading west out of the Michigan UP back into Wisconsin, on a strait-away that...

    Aftermarket Windshield Dilemma

I'm 6'0", 30" inseam, so I'm taller up top. The stock screen, regardless of position, was like going into the ring with Sugar Ray Leonard. And I lost the fight on every ride. I don't see too many Rifle owners in this thread, but everything I found at this site about Rifle windshields had me...

    Check your tires!

Get this- I picked up my brand-spankin'-new FJR about a month ago. It was just as the OP described, not good in the turns. "Huh," I thought, "just need to get used to this new bike." Next day I rode it to a friend's house, he stepped back and looked at the tires, thinking they were looking...

Nylon windshield screws and a new Rifle shield

Well, that then makes absolutely perfect sense. Safety measure. Thank you very much. Bluesman- you're a sweetheart, thanks for showing the love, man! Ya see, a simple search of the "technical discussions" forum netted me nothing but useless crap for several pages, nothing that remotely...

Nylon windshield screws and a new Rifle shield

Tonight I installed my new Rifle windshield- clear, +5" higher, +4" wider. Installed late this evening, so I didn't take it for a ride... yet. I'm 6' tall with a 30" inseam, so I'm tall above the saddle. At full windshield height, I'm looking through the new glass an inch or more down from...

    Rifle Windshields

They received my order Monday morning May 23. On Friday May 27 it left their shop. Thanks to the holiday on Monday May 30, it will not be here until Friday June 3. And not a moment too soon. I really need a taller shield. With the stocker up at the top, I'm still head and shoulders above...

    Scary Metzlers

Wow! Silly question, but that is a radial tire, right? Bias ply is what I use (factory spec) on my Moto Guzzi, and many, many of us swear by the bias ply Metzler Marathon 880 on our bikes. Long wearing, great traction. Yeah, two different animals, but that is a weird photo. What kind of air...

Shoei MultiTec Owners - Fit Help

I have an x-large Multitec, chin doesn't touch the chinbar when relaxed, but my fairly trimmed beard does. The Mulitec is the only modular helmet with metal-on-metal latching hardware that would fit my big ol' watermelon head. I have also gone down to the thinner cheekpads. Check your owner's...

Raise the height of passenger footpegs

Nah, only new for me. I don't like the gamble of what someone else may have done to a used vehicle of any kind. Steve.

Raise the height of passenger footpegs

Hello All, Haven't bought it yet, but on Saturday afternoon I took my wife to a local shop to view the '07 FJR. She's only 5' tall, leg length proportionate to overall height (i.e. she's not all legs, not taller in upper body eiither). On my current ride (Moto Guzzi California) I had to use...

Want to escape back pain by buying FJR

Graham, All sound advice, and I am getting back into some exercising that I haven't done in years past- long, fast paced walks, tossing around some freeweights, abdominal exercises, etc., and cutting back on the calorie intake. I tried the renting idea, but can't find a dealer in my area (and...

    Chinese BMW

C'mon. Give me the original WWII BMW rip-off, the Ural! At least with the Ural, you get twice the hp of this one, and a Brembo front disc brake, and on a few of the Urals, a powered sidecar wheel. https://www.imz-ural.com/ For video- Steve.
