I have a 2005 FJR 1300 ABS with over 50,000 miles and still have the original battery. I do not even know the make of the battery! Each winter ( I live in Minnesota) I plug the bike into a battery tender and that is all I do. Is it common for batteries to last this long?

I hit a black bird and a small starling with the FJR. Once riding up the Northway, in New York by Lake George on a 1200 Super-glide with no windshield, I hit a bee that stung me on the neck; and I also had a June bug give me a fat lip. Now with the FJR I have an extra large windshield.

I assisted at TripperMike with swearing and cussing so he could focus on what he was doing with the valve adjustment on my FJR. TipperMike is a wonderful and generous host with his home and skills.

Mike, Thanks for hosting the Tech day! Regarding the valve check, no adjustments were needed. My bike ran fine and experienced no leaks riding home. Food and company were terrific. It was great meeting everyone and I am looking forward to attending next year. Bill
