Great report. I spent a couple of weeks up in that area after college. Stayed near Loch Ness and traveled from their. Back then I thought that they would be great roads to ride my bicycle on. Now I know better that they would be better on a motorcycle.

Your pictures of the lost coast reminded me of my first ride to California in 2005 on my FJR. I lucked out that there was no fog. But I did have to deal with logging trucks. Your pictures brought back great memories. Wish I could have been there.

Meeting a bunch of crazy people with the same sickness as I have made that sickness seem not so out of place. Completing my first Iron Butt ride and doing it the state where I know almost all the roads made it even better.

Just read through all the post on this. As one who lives in the mountains and has to avoid the deer, elk and moose I can vouch for how they just show up on the road in front of somebody. I hope for their fast and healthy recovery.
