I loved the look and sound of the Staintunes I had on my 03'. I bought them back in 03' for about 700.00, still pricey but worth it. Shortly after I bought the 05' I found a nice pair of used Holeshots for 350.00 which served me well for 5 years. They are now on my 09' and going strong...

My experience with Gen1 / Gen2 versions pretty much echo what's been said. - 03' was definately the quickest and ran resonably cool for a Gen1. - 05' wasn't quite as fast and ran noticeably warmer. Better suspension than the 03' and overall a great bike. - 09' Couldn't tell much difference in...

I've had Y.E.S. on all three FJR's I've owned. Didn't use it on the 03', did on the 05'. I'm not anticipating any problems w/ the 09' but.......all betting aside, how much is "peace of mind" worth to you? <_<

That was exactly what happened when I ordered my Ohlins shock. Dave Hodges @ GP Suspension suggested and installed a more appropriate spring (no charge) to accomodate my "mature physique" ! :lol:

Sounds like you've got a great setup on the way. I went with the Ohlins and some fork springs. Totally transformed my 09'. Dave @ GP was a great guy to deal with. Enjoy!

How about a pic of an elevated FJR using the Harbor freight lift? Are you putting it under the exhaust system to lift the bike? I'd ruled these out years ago for use with the FJR. Thanks
