can't decide if that makes me want to laugh or cry

Got any pics you could share? Which top fabric did you get? Would love to hear a review of it.

love the bike, the stock seat not so much

I can't afford a Russell but wish I could. I've been tempted lately to go to a local seat maker in my area because I know he'd do it for less than half the price.

Would you take on the project?

If I had the time, and it was a steal of a deal, yes I would.

    New rear tyre

By the way, your online site and helpful docs have been extremely helpful to me in the past. Thanks for your contributions!

Uh oh. It appears you torqued the nut using green rubber boots. Use black boots for proper torque.

AE shifting and 1st gear engagement problem solved - incorrect engine oil viscosity

Interesting subject. I have a 2007 AE. I don't think oil viscosity is the culprit. In my case, I've found that any chattering on my AE is a result of oil temperature. Not to be confused with coolant temperature, which warms up more quickly than the oil. On cold mornings, my bike will...

    Earplugs: just me?

It's not just you, but it affects some people more than others. It sounds to me as if your head is going to pop because you can't get the steam to vent. This may be what is causing your equilibrium to be thrown off. Tinnitus is no fun. It never goes away. Never. Protect your ears. Have...

    Wide Open Throttle question

I wonder if I'm just not revving it high enough? I performed the first valve gap check yesterday and all of them were perfect at 27K miles.

    Wide Open Throttle question

Something I've noticed out on the open road. This is hard to articulate but hopefully someone will understand. I am not an aggressive rider and never hit redline so this isn't a big concern, just curious more than anything. If I slowly open the throttle to wide open, the bike pulls strong...

    RAM ball on dash?

I have two RAM mounts already. It just seems that without a dash shelf, there's no good way to get the GPS up high where I want it. I considered mounting it to the back of the windshield, but then it would move around and I want it to be permanent.

    RAM ball on dash?

Sounds like I'll have to stick with what I've got. Thanks

    RAM ball on dash?

Who has mounted a RAM ball above the instrument cluster? I would like to mount my GPS higher, above the gauges and below the windshield. I don't know if that plastic is strong enough to hold a RAM ball with a GPS hanging off it? Ideas or pictures would be appreciated. My ride is a 2007 (Gen...

    Need GPS to replace 2597LMT

No, it doesn't have a charging cradle (though I do have a RAM mount for it). It charges through a mini-USB cord. And in my case, unfortunately, the internal USB port was broken from the circuit board and not repairable.

    Need GPS to replace 2597LMT

I have a separate off-road GPS for the XR, so no need for the 276C. I didn't see any other affordable options, so this morning I jumped on a 2598LMT from OfferUp. I can use my same RAM mount with this, so I'm good to go now. Thanks for the input!

    Need GPS to replace 2597LMT

A Zumo would be nice but it's way beyond my price range and I'd like to remain married.
