No, they will not. The Gen 2 are larger in size. I bought some Gen 1's from a person that had some sitting around, put them on my Gen 2 and they fell into the holes.

I found this out the hard way. Bought some Gen 1 covers from another person that will remain unmentioned and they did not fit my Gen 2 '06. I had to buy another set from someone else later.

It happens to the best of us. Don't beat yourself up. You learned a valuable lesson and you both walked away from it. You need to treat her like a queen for several weeks and make sure she knows you're thankful she is alive and well. Praying for a quick recovery and time back in the saddle soon.
