Short answer... not really. It is faster, and more than anything, it "feels" much faster because of less wind protection, lighter, little less stable at high speed. search for FJR FZ1 site:fjrforum.com and you can find a fair amount of reading. Also you can look at comparo's on the FZ1owners...

27 is a really nice road once you get just past the KY border. I'd highly suggest it.
