Yeah, I completely agree, but there are always the guys that will just have to try to make it even better. It's a pretty heavy bike... at some point you are going to be asking too much of the tires or the road surface. I think I'd let the bike do its thing, if it were mine. -R

Yamaha has a ton of experience with USD forks. That's what's on my 06 FZ1 and they are completely adjustable independently, and seem to work just fine for the street. Years have proven them to be very reliable on the street and track. The biggest advantage to having USD forks is the improvement...

Thanks a bunch, Larry! The couple that owns the FJR are friends of mine that actually live in FL, too. They hadn't found any top box parts on line anywhere, but I passed the word on to them and I'm sure they will let me know after a call to their local dealer tomorrow. -Roger

Yet, Yamaha continues to roll out new Star cruisers just about every year. If they have a few of those new 1700 V-Max motors laying around I'd love to see one stuffed into a new FJR chassis. I know, I know ...there goes the fuel mileage, too heavy, bla, bla, bla ... but some of us buy...
