Front Fairing Paint Protection Mod (Gen III)

Hey Wlfman, there's a member over on the FZ1oa that custom builds them. I don't know why he wouldn't be interested in making them for the FJR if he can get a template. [email protected]

    Ride plans for EOM

Yeah, sorry I missed you, John. It looks like crap here at home still, too. What a difference a week makes. My last trip over the mountains it was absolutely perfect out. Maybe it will clear off for your return trip. -R

    Ride plans for EOM

I'm watching rain here and around the Shady Valley region on the weather map this morning. The mountain fog may be more of a problem in some areas though. Hopefully it will burn off. I also have to go into work half a day, so unfortunately for me, I won't be available to head toward SV until...

    Ride plans for EOM

I had planned to ride to Shady Valley, TN to the store to see if I could catch any of you on the way through just to say hi, but rain broke out here this afternoon and hasn't let up for hours now. I'll try again tomorrow, but it looks like there are probably not too many of you are actually...

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

Yeah, I completely agree, but there are always the guys that will just have to try to make it even better. It's a pretty heavy bike... at some point you are going to be asking too much of the tires or the road surface. I think I'd let the bike do its thing, if it were mine. -R

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

Yamaha has a ton of experience with USD forks. That's what's on my 06 FZ1 and they are completely adjustable independently, and seem to work just fine for the street. Years have proven them to be very reliable on the street and track. The biggest advantage to having USD forks is the improvement...

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

I understand. Cool web site. Thanks! It looks like there's plenty of time left to get an ES since they probably won't be available here until November. You know, the best part for me is that my wife would actually support me walking in and buying one even if she knows we can't really afford it...

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

NOBODY bothered to tell me about the 14. I had to find out about it over on the FZ1 forum... and I'm "the" one who has been "waiting for red" all these years. Now I can start taking up donations. -Roger

    Just Got One: Yamaha FZ1

Hmmmmm??? I caught a lot of flak here in 06 when I showed up with my FZ1. This must be a kinder, gentler nation now. -Roger

Tuning Fork emblem needed for top box.

Thanks a bunch, Larry! The couple that owns the FJR are friends of mine that actually live in FL, too. They hadn't found any top box parts on line anywhere, but I passed the word on to them and I'm sure they will let me know after a call to their local dealer tomorrow. -Roger

Tuning Fork emblem needed for top box.

Someone please chime in if they know of a source for the Yamaha Tuning Fork emblem for a Genuine Yamaha top box. 2008 model year FJR. TIA -Roger

    Yamaha Announces 2011 FJR

Yet, Yamaha continues to roll out new Star cruisers just about every year. If they have a few of those new 1700 V-Max motors laying around I'd love to see one stuffed into a new FJR chassis. I know, I know ...there goes the fuel mileage, too heavy, bla, bla, bla ... but some of us buy...

How Many FJRs Are Out There???

Oh yeah, well, I saw two FJR's coming up from behind me on the 4 lane slab of TN 421 one fine day ...then we got to the tight stuff going over the mountain, and I didn't see them again until I stopped. :yahoo: I'm STILL looking for the rare red one. -R

Sighting May 13! Headed North on TN 421

Ya, saw 4 flying in formation on The Snake, headed toward Bristol, VA/TN. I waved ...but, anyway... looked like you guys were having fun. Welcome to TN. -R

    New FJR Article

I'm not sure either, but I can vouch for the smaller cc bikes having less grunt thus requiring more ratios. The combination of short passing zones in the mountains where I live and the 998cc engine of my FZ1 occasionally leave me digging hard with the left foot to gain the momentum needed to...

Told off my first cager yesterday

I strongly suggested that a few years ago on several forums, along with a petition. You would have thought I was suggesting they let OJ out ...again. I took a LOT of fire for that, but it's a funny thing we've all seen close calls, or been the victim of them, from that young female driver in her...
