    rotating brake pads?

"I'm going to go against the general consensus on this one: rotating brake pads would, at least temporarily, mismatch the pad to the rotor and would require it to have to be reseated for maximum contact." Much in the same way new pads are initially mismatched to the rotors. NBD

    CO settings

"maybe 30 is too much fuel.u wash the cylinders" Let him be. There hasn't been enough destruction testing of FJR engines. Inquiring minds want to know what happens next. Could be a learning experience at someone else's expense.

NY to TN, NC, FL and back

Easy. Avoid any roads that begin with "I-" ( As in Interstate. ) You'll find most North-South routes are for making time. East-West routes are for having fun. Keep in mind early in your trip you'll be energized and have a tendency to travel farther. Later in the week don't let pressure to...

Remove ABS module to remove shock?

That's the right bolt. There is a sleeve, once the nut is removed, that slides out of place and allows you to angle the bolt out. Don't lose the sleeve, When I re-assembled mine I reversed the position of the bolt. HTH

    Anyone seen this electrical anomaly?

FrankD, speaking from personal experience, you may have "fixed" the problem but you haven't eliminated it. Soldering is the only permanent solution. Don't put off the inevitable.

    Tire pressure gauges

Abandon the notion that any gauge is accurate. What they need to be is consistent. To this end stick gauges are more the fine. As for accuracy, determine what pressure gives you a ten percent rise in pressure between cold and a thoroughly warmed tire and always use that pressure...

    Why does a bike turn

No one has yet mentioned precession ( torque free vs torque induced ), Euler angles or nutation. Gotta love physics.

I'd be happy to hang with you and Lisa. I don't mind a sane pace and enjoy the sightseeing a more relaxed ride allows. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Pioneer Days 2016 Marlinton, WV 7/8-7/10 Old Clark Inn

Pretty much what Bob said. Try to picture a Bed & Breakfast in the middle of a carnival surrounded by some of the best roads in WV. It doesn't get much better.

The "Parking" Key Position in Gen III. Useful?

Motorcycles don't need any safety features, regardless of their usefulness, because all motorcyclists have vastly superior intelligence and always use the utmost care and consideration for their safety as well as others. You can see evidence of this everyday on highways all across America...

    What's in your tool kit?

Additionally, three things I never leave without: Plug kit with air compressor, siphon hose and jumper cables. Have needed each in the past, as much for myself as well as fellow riders.

    What's in your tool kit?

"Personally, my preferred tool kit is a cell phone, Triple A membership and credit card." None of which will do you any good when you're broke down on a Sunday night in the middle of BFE. Carry tools!

    Oil near the Tranmission Input

Only 14K miles in 6 years. It's a fairly reasonable assumption that the bike has not seen any maintenance other than perhaps an oil change. I'm surprised it holds any fluids in check.

WNY Tech Day III, Saturday June 4, 2016

Sorry for the eleventh hour bail but I'm afraid I'm not going to make it either. I'm fighting something and don't feel I'm up to the return trip on Sunday. I simply can't take a chance this might get worse and cause me to miss work right now. I'm really bummed. Been looking forward to this...
