What did you do to your FJR today?

Added a PC-8 power distribution module and rewired my heated gear outlets through it. Preparation for the auxiliary lights to come.

    Cancelled for Now-Upstate SC ride then eat, Sunday April 17th, 7:45am, 178 & 11

Looks like I won't be able to make it. I misread the date as Saturday instead of Sunday. Can't do a Sunday meet that early. Maybe next time.

Upstate SC Tech (wreck?) session Sunday April 24 Greer

I'm tentatively in. Not sure what I may need to get done, but it's definitely a good opportunity to hang out and maybe even learn something.

I'm planning to be there. Don't know if my wife will be along or not. Joey.

Upstate SC and NC scouting report and rumblings of rides in the upstate

Put me on the tentative list. But Saturday's are generally less hectic for me.

    Help With Helmet Stereo

The issue for me is more about quietening the wind noise. I'm not sure that earbuds would do it enough for me. I can hear my Sena just fine through the earplugs. In addition, I absolutely hate the rubbing noises that get transmitted along the cord to the earbuds.

Upstate SC and NC scouting report and rumblings of rides in the upstate

Just gotta watch for some serious irregularities in some of the curves. Nothing gets your attention like your front wheel hitting a big gouge in the asphalt mid-turn.

    Help With Helmet Stereo

Yes. That's usually not a problem for me. Sena says 10 hours per charge and I think that's about right. I carry a battery pack with a USB cable in the event I need to charge while riding. They are specified to be able to operate while charging.

    Help With Helmet Stereo

I use the SMH5-FM. It's cheaper than a SMH-10 and has nearly all the features as far as I can tell (a few differences do exist). You can also get dual packs of them for less than $190. A pair of SMH10's looks like another $40-$50. Depending on the helmets you'll be using look for the boom mic or...

    Helmet Comm issues

I use the SMH5-FM. I think it's the best buy overall for the Sena products. I think I paid about $125 for it. Not as much range as the other models, but the built in FM is a plus. And it does the standard intercom features as well as the ability to pair two bluetooth devices. Every time I think...

    Split - Non-Philips LED H4 Bulbs

Try mounting the removable plates, putting the boot on, then inserting the rest of the assembly through the boot into the plate and twisting to lock into place. I guided the assembly by looking through the headlight lens while inserting (a bit of a stretch, but not bad) to be sure I didn't...

Overlooking Lake Jocassee in upstate South Carolina.

    Heated Gear

This make sense. I use a FG Kilamanjaro with the liner, my heated liner, and then usually a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt. I think that this way the heated liner is not trying to overcome the insulation of any additional layers, and the jacket liner can actually trap the heat inside.

    Need new boots.

Has anyone tried Rev'It boots? I've been considering some more normal looking boots (like the Regent or Royale lines).

    The ONE Picture Ride Report

Just one stop on a 300 mile round trip this past weekend. (This is the Georgia Guidestones for those that don't recognize it.)

    Bluetooth or In-Ear?

If I need to charge while riding, I have a USB battery pack that I can keep in my pocket and connect to the headset. The pack is 5000mAh and has 2 USB charging ports. I use a USB cable with a right angle connector to connect to the headset. The upside is you aren't connected to the bike. The...
