    2019 FJR1300

I might be in the same boat, either for one of those or taking a Gen 3 off the hands of a BRG buyer.

    Oh heck yes.

No,no,no. Not listening to any reports of blue or grey. Nope, nope, nope.

    SFO 2018 Home Safe

^^^^^ The Deputy is still searching for your a**. Likewise home, safe, and dry. Endless thanks to our hosts; great to see everyone again, and to have made some new friends.

Back to colors... The current generation Jetta comes in a reddish-orange that I think the FJR could wear. There' also a Jeep color with the regrettable name of "Mango Tango Pearl" that looks good.

^^^^^ I think the bike could wear that color. Google "Nottingham Firemist Green." Might need to be a nick darker than that.

    SFO 2018 - September 27th-30th

Here's to the intrepid souls who made it there today (Thursday). We got lashed (NC) this evening. Hopefully clear for my departure in the AM. Looking forward to seeing you all.

Why grey? I'd think silver is overdue. A revisit to Black Cherry might get my attention.

    New vs old

^^^^^ Sounds like a solid endorsement.

Not touting any particular brand, because...40 miles... But baby got a new set of skins, and dayum! It's like she (generic vehicular gender reference) lost 45 pounds and went to charm school. Back to nimble, comfortable and predictable. Yowza.

    Earplugs: just me?

Thanks for those links. I have a box of the foam ones and a pair of the custom molded silicone ones. For me the foam ones are more effective. I can't use the tapered ones; it seems like they're too tight in my ear canal. Question about the ones above: Do you have any issue keeping them in...

Appreciate the link to the original thread. Is it just my work computer, or are the photo links fubar in that thread?

    Short Rider Questions

Well, I don't know that at this point I can add much that hasn't been said. 5'7" (ish), 29.5" inseam. I'm balls of the feet on almost everything, so none of that's a surprise. I'm always looking where I'm going to stop &/or park. But to be FJR-specific, the bike is unbelievably stable as...

    Pirelli Angel GT's

The bike didn't handle too bad with the ('07) OE tires on it when I got it ('13...), but they were old, so they hadda go. The Angels handled great right up to the time they didn't. Much more effort to turn in and a tendency to want to stand up from a turn. Never had a front tire wear out...

    Pirelli Angel GT's

I'd been running them at the recommended 39F 42R. I'm particular about tire pressure, and check every ride.

    SFO 2018 - September 27th-30th

Well, feck. Thankfully I checked early, but the answer I got was not what I expected: Off today, not really getting ready, but thought the prudent thing to do would be to check the tires. Doesn't involve tools or much time, right? Pulled the cover up to peek at the front, and...WTF? Is that...
