What Do You Call an '05 FJR Without Gasoline?

I'm an expert on this subject. The fuel pickup is not at the rear of the tank, so grabbing a big handful of throttle or heading up a steep hill can cause the engine to cut out when you're low on gas. In other words, Hans, ya probably coulda started it up again and made it home if ya wasn't...

Bummer and welcome to the crash club. Don't crash the new bike.

    Cornering confidence

Maybe you're more worried about dumping your own bike rather than your buddy's.

Newbie here, Question about 2 up riding...

Uhh... Which way do you turn the key? What happens if you pull the release and then turn the key? Which way does the bag come off, up or down? Jeez, that sounds tough.

Newbie here, Question about 2 up riding...

Forgot to mention this: I don't think the Yamaha top box is easy to remove and reinstall, but the Givi is.

Newbie here, Question about 2 up riding...

For people such as us who are less than svelte, or I guess that's more than svelte, the FJR is under-sprung but as long as the scale doesn't cringe when you step on it you should be OK for 20,000 miles. I had to get peg extenders for my 5' 10" wife but that doesn't sound like a problem for you...

    Orangevale Memorial Ride

Mike, I've got a Traffic Advisory for you and anyone else riding up Latrobe: they're extending the four-lane section of Latrobe through the EDH buisiness park, so take it easy once you hit the construction. The road's got a few new (temporary) turns and elevation changes. OK, the wife has...

    front end float follow-up

The steering head was starting to feel loose so I tightened it up. It really seemed to cut down on the weaving with the Givi box mounted.

Who was draggin' a bag on the Dragon?

I've got a Rick Mayer saddle and I CAN hang off. Don't do it a whole lot, though. I like the pretty sparks.

    California only FJR?

That won't fly. Kali DMV bases the mileage on what's written on the pink slip/bill of sale. Buy it in Tennessee with 6500 miles on it, put 1500 miles on it driving to Kalifornia, try to register it, and as Dudewado notes you'll never be able to register it in Kali ever again. Never. Uh uh...

    Gravel Devil ate my 07

Sorry about the bike & hope no serious damage was done to it. Sliders seem to be overwhelmed by seriously crashing the bike. I'm glad a sore arm was all you got out of it. Thought that road looked familiar. I used to bicycle it regularly. Lotta gravel. Never went down. Fortunately you were...

    Crash Club Qualifications?

Check the Crash Club Handbook. It states that you must be traveling at least 10 MPH and do at least $500 dollars damage or sustain an injury requiring medical attention. You are, however, eligible for the drop club. Sorry about the scratches on your bike and your ego.

What is this, a land version of a boat?

That's odot, always got a smile and a kind word. Hell yeah, they'll even come out to your house and make you a new key if you lose one key, throw the other in your pocket, and take off on a long weekend in the cage, hoping to find a locksmith somewhere on your travels. But nobody would be...

    Ride your FJR to Work!!!!!!!!!!!!

Riding to work today as usual. Elwood, you can probably get 45 but it may not be as much fun. You can also get in the low 30s. The other nice thing about going easy with the right wrist is that the tires will last longer. Those donuts cost a lot of dough; probably more than you'll save on...
