There is a short thread started by Constant Mesh about drive line slack-free play. He stated his rear wheel moved 2.5 inches or so measured at wheel or tire. I measured mine in first gear at rim its 1.75 . Interesting. Search rear wheel its half way down page.

Parts do wear. Gears and bearings start to get additional clearance over time. Axle spines. Interested how you know rear shims where already replaced? Factory marking? Buy a new 4x4 truck Automatic. Nice and tight when new. 100k later a whole bunch of play in drive line. Transfer case, rear diff.

It can be done but much easier to use an A engine to start with. Shift drum will need to be replaced opening up lower engine case. If you're going that far just repair the trans. Its expensive either way. Newer engines will work. Gen II is easy swap. AE much harder. I doubt newer 6 speed will...

I'm using the SM10 and 10R. 10R dies in about 5 hours with music playing. Never had an issue with SM10 battery going flat. Good thing with SENA everything works when powered up . Agree with Uncle Hud . Carry a small back up power bank. It kinds of defeats the true wireless features but works.

Yeah never liked that about Yamaha master cylinders. Release lever shoots fluid up, fast. Honda's don't do that. They have a little part of metal inside master cyl. that diverts it .

If my memory still works.?? Tail light harness is separate from main harness. There is a connector on left side wayyyyyy back on sub-frame . Clutch side. I had an alarm system and it plugged into harness there. Check that area if all else fails.

Not common. You are the 1st that I know of that had this kind problem. Great diag. and repair. Sometimes you can see a burnt spot in circuit board, others times not. I'm riding my 05 as long a can and its still repairable.
