Safe trip home, sir, and THANKS for your donation!

ear buds or in helmet bluetooth

Until this moment, I was unaware that the Sena in-helmet speakers could be removed without cutting wires. That changes things drastically! I've used both: listening to the low-fidelity Sena speakers through conventional earplugs; and wired earbuds plugged into the Sena headphone jack. The...

    Mindoro Cut Road

What you've witnessed is the "make ready" work required whenever a road is transferred from one governmental jurisdiction to another. Before the County accepts the roadway as their responsibility, they want it repaired and resurfaced. Let's hope LaCrosse County keeps it in good shape over the...

    I'm a *******

Used to carry my spare key in the sidecase. Realized that a lost key meant the sidecase wouldn't open. Narrowly missed a "*******" moment. My ******* list is pretty long.

FJR heading for the Barber Museum

As of 9:30 Eastern this Monday morning, Spotwalla shows Mr Morrow on US 59 crossing the OK/AR state line. He started Wednesday, May 1 around noon Eastern. I believe he's avoided Interstate highways once he got south of Bellingham, WA. Click here to see the trip trace.

FJR heading for the Barber Museum

Nice gesture, sir, and an FJR with 190,000 miles before you start riding to Alabama, is a great representative of the marque. Congratulations, and thank you! Ride safely. (You won't have to worry about warmth once you get south of Nebraska.)

    Has Anyone Ridden India?

Rambler, a no-longer-active member here, rode through his native India in 2015 and again in 2016. Click here to read his blog posts; his screen name there is Rakesh. Photos, videos, and narratives are high quality. You could probably contact him through a Forum PM: search for "Rambler" (no...

Phone App for an "All-in-One" use

First, if you were in downtown Greensboro, you could easily have been so far into the sticks that you got no cell service. Second, when I start Google Maps, takes a bit of movement before it figures out where I am. Usually 20 feet or so will solve that, but it can mean occasional u-turns...

YIPPEE! Big Money Rally for 2019

... and now Griff's reached Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious status, in first place with a nice lead on the second-place rider. Nice job, sir.

    Shinko tires?

Thanks for the insights, gentlemen. I've had wavering opinions about these inexpensive tires, but appreciate "the way I ride" comments since I am a rather conservative rider ... most of the time.

    Is it Dead?

Not to stay off-topic, but no one is forcing you to live there, sir. Gas is exorbitant here at $2.15 or so, and I'll be reporting on Upper Midwest prices in June. FWIW, two climbing/hiking trips to Mount Rainier have convinced me that you have the better deal when comparing scenery to gas prices.
