Never had the Vmax valve float at high rpm. And trust me, I've had it up to high rpm's a lot. Not sure its a better design, but you probably know more about it than I do.

Resurrecting this tired old thread. I thought I'd look on the NGK website and they show that they have the CPR8EAIX-9 iridium plugs. Ordered on sparkplugs.com. They show to have 277 in stock. Just in case anyone is still interested in buying some. $8.45 ea. GP

Not yet, but I think they have all adopted the 10 year rule. I'm going to try and go by the Freedom powersports in Dallas this weekend and talk to them. A friend told me they just cleaned out the service department. New manager and techs.

I agree. I would guess the engine hasn't changed to the point where servicing the valves would be different. GP

Man you've got some older ones. Don't know how these guys with really old vintage bikes get by. Must be some mechanics somewhere that specialize in working on vintage bikes.

I agree with everything you said Rocnsanman. I can do everything, but the serious engine work. Guess I'll start looking for an independent mechanic and hope I never have to use them. I have the shop manuals, but they are intended for experienced, trained mechanics. I guess I'm slowly getting...

I do a lot of work on my motorcyles myself. Do all the maintenance on all 5 of my bikes and then some. Have changed out water pumps, stators, clutches etc. I even adjusted the valves on my Vmax, but you don't have to pull the cams off for adjustment. What a concept. Don't know why they didn't...

I may be a little late to the party, but has anyone else had dealers that won't work on a bike that is over 10 years old? 15 years old? My old Vmax is a 1995 and my dealer said they won't touch it now. I have a 2012 FJR that is 10 years old now and that is their limit. They will do minor service...

I was just looking for some Spirt St tires on quite a few different seller websites. They are all out of the front tire, but have the rear. I wonder if it has something to do with the last post from Mossyrocks 13k above? Anyone know what's going on with the Avon manufacturing of these tires...

Correct tire pressure is a must. Try a different tire brand on the next change. GP

I guess you can call me crazy, but I find it hard to believe fork bushings are worn out at around 50k on a high milage bike if the fluid is maintained properly. GP
