Everyone...
PLEASE go back to my original post and double-check the route. It seems Google maps made a slight change to make the ride quicker on the return trip.
The ride is basicaly the same up and back with just one small detour on the way up. I am sorry about the mix-up and I hope it...
The ABS on my 05 was pretty fast and saved my arse a couple times. My 08 seems to work the same, although I know it has one more "mode" that my 05 did not have.
I "check" my ABS when the conditions present themselves. Wet weather and a clear road gives me a chance to "feel" the motors working...
Current on basic First Aid, current on American Heart Association CPR, couple years out of American Red Cross CPR.
Kind of like my insurance and my tire patch kit... hope I never need any of them... stupid not to have them.
It's all good. The tire was still holding air after work, so I tried my best to wear that plug-bump off on the way home. Good timing though... new set of PR2s in the garage. Hmmm... wonder where those came from? I'll swap them out next week before our ride as I am almost at the...
I'm not sure if I should blame this thread or not, but I answered the pole and then pulled a 2.5" nail out of my rear tire today.
Hmmmmmmmmm........
At least I had the kit and was back on the road in about 15 mintues. Now I have floppy plug strings hanging out. Guess I will have to...
Maybe it's time...
Well, let me put it this way:
When the guy down the street dies and you hear about it you feel sad. You feel that way because you know he was a human being and he had someone who cared about him and you know they will grieve. You feel sad because (in most...
1st, MUST READ FAQ...
2nd, MUST HAVE FJR... :dribble:
I'm not certain about the order, but I would recommend doing it the way I listed. Beyond that, it's all GGGGRRRRAAAAVVVVYYYY............. :D
So often I want to open a thread and reply without reading it. Just because I have an awesome response to what the title posted was.
On a related issue... I sure HATE looking at threads that I am not interested in because of the "teaser" title and I hate it even more when I...
Nineteen years of recurring First Aid training in the military and I have only needed it once. Last year I kept a girl from going off the deep-end with a bad case of heat stroke. I was working concessions at a NASCAR track when a woman asked for a cool cloth. It only took one look to realize...
I chose to keep my avitar but I wanted to remember Tim. That is why I have the icon in my sig. The icon will remain. It is subtle enough to be respectful, and yet, it will remind those who knew him that he has passed.
I also believe a lot of the sybolism for Tim will pass after the memorial...
Sounds like what I had at NAFO. It cost me $120 but a dealer pulled about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water out of my fuel system. About a tablespoon out of the fuel rail alone. Mechanic said the water is more dense and will not go through the injector. It can literally "bounce" on the top of the...
I guess I must be one of the lucky ones. :clapping:
My 1300 CC beast cramed inside a small aluminum frame and surrounded by plastic actually doesn't create any heat. In fact, it runs so cool I store my beer under the gas tanks in a special foil-lined compartment. :yahoo:
I thought those...
All of your concerns have been addressed in the past... and not so distant in the past. Do a little searching around the forum and find the information... then you will be able to ask intelligent questions before you spend too much money.
Since the ride is basically the same up and back, I'm not sure how you are going to ride it in reverse. However, the end result is to honor Tim and arrive at the service safely. That said, anyone wishing to "do their own thing" is welcome to do so.
+1 Mike!
I tried to keep my post from sounding too much like a sermon, but I really wanted to get the same point across. This is a memorial ride and not a race. I will be riding slower than normal and I will be riding for the people around me... not for my own enjoyment.
Group rides can be a...
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... ...I like using my tool tray.
However, I REALLY like the idea of the cruise control, so I will clean it out. It's just goodies that I carry on a day-to-day basis, but the Gen II has a lot of storage under the seats. Just a matter of reorganizing.
