    Four way running lights

"Rear running lights" would be the taillights, and they should illuminate when the bike is turned on. There's not a "running light" separate from the taillights. The taillight bulbs are dual-filament on a 2005, with the second filament being for the brake lights. The amber lights at the rear...

Gen II Clutch Adjustment Possible on Non AE Model?

I had that bushing wear so badly the pin went through it. Yeah, the engagement was pretty close to the bar, and then of course, when it popped through, I couldn't get the clutch to release at all! New one was cheap, and works like magic!

    Long Way Up

All they need is 4 or 5 bikes apiece, and switch out as they discharge. Dead bikes go onto the truck to charge as the truck follows along. It'll only take about 15 times the fuel of doing it on gasoline-powered bikes!

    FJR Naked Street project

That radiator is my issue! I don't know what you can do with it, and the side pieces help, but it's still.. OUT THERE!!!

    World SuperBike 2019

Just thought I'd jump in to highlight the error of the first sentence of this thread... Rae was nowhere until Bautista apparently forgot how to ride. Not sure what his issue is, but he said somewhere that he doesn't have the front end feel he expected, and that seems plain enough now!! He's...

    Hurricane Michael, a personal view...

In Florida, your #3 is an Assignment of Benefits. The insurance industry just ran a successful campaign to get some parts of this limited, especially when it comes to litigation during and after the process. Basically an Assignment of Benefits puts the contractor and insurance in direct touch...

    Hurricane Michael, a personal view...

Nothing new, actually. I do have a contractor lined up for the interior rebuild, but he and the insurance company are so far apart he doesn't want to start. I'm trying to get the insurance to send another adjuster, because his first look was so far short of what the house needs. I got that...

    Bike keyed at work!

That's an accidental scratch, something someone was carrying as they walked by. Not malicious, but still a helluva lot of careless damage.

FJRForum Official 2019 Iron Butt Rally Tracking/Analysis Thread

Has the leg 2 bonus list been made public anywhere? I know that pieces and concepts have been well-described, but sure curious about the actual listing and wording!

1981 Honda CBX SuperSport followed me home...

I had a shot at one of these about 20 years ago. It ran, but there were leaks at the brake calipers, torn-up seat, other issues of that nature, and I passed on it. It was a close call, though. I have always loved straight-6 bikes, and I've envied you that Kwak (which let's be honest, was a lot...

    F*** Garmin

Oddly enough, they seem to move around a lot down here!!!! US 98 was re-routed from waterfront to about a mile inland to go behind a new development near Port St. Joe, southwest of here. US 331 was moved east about a mile where it intersects state road 20 (it used to dog-leg west on SR20 before...

    F*** Garmin

I hadn't encountered this, but wasn't sure I'd been using my units at a time of day where the hours would be that far off. I just checked, and both my ancient Streetpilots, a 2720 and a 2820, show the correct time. Maps might be a bit out of date...

News Stories, Photos that are Fun

While perusing Google Street View of I-10 through north Florida... This is the Street View image, not me taking a picture of the Street View car; there were two of them traveling together. Anyway, Google is BUSTED!!! :) [url The picture is clickable to take you to the Street View site if you...

    Puddles on the Floor

Those bottom freezers actually suck. You end up piling stuff in there like a chest freezer and you can't get to anything without digging. I could care less about ice in the door. That mechanism takes up too much useful room. And side-by-sides, unless HUGE, are very limited in the size of...

    I'm a *******

I just came here because dcarver started a thread titled "I'm a *******." Just wanted to see what it was this time...

    Steering Bearing and Head Shake

Head shake is just worn tires in general, not one tire versus another. (Probably mostly. ) As the tires wear, the centerline of the contact patch shifts unevenly, resulting in an application of caster. Sometimes the tire contact is left of the centerline, sometimes right. That offset turns the...

    FJR1300 Won't restart when hot

Charcoal can? What does that have to do with accessing the diag screen, or other electronic issues he mentioned?

    Is it Dead?

Yeah, it's a battery. But the load test for a car battery that's supposed to put out 650 Amps is a bit different than the test for a motorcycle battery, and as they "upgrade" their shop equipment, they may not have anything that tests "only" a couple hundred amps. Just a guess, but I can see how...
