TPS failures do not always show up during the self DIAG mode, OR throw a code. The TPS seems to test normally, however if it is replaced the problem goes away. Ive seen this multiple times. TPS failures are intermittent and usually cause the bike to stall at idle.

Go faster, the whistle goes away. At 60 to 110 the whistle isnt audible over the wind noise. Not sure if it whistles at higher speeds. :agent:

The tick has got to be pretty loud for Yahama to warrant a repair. Just the way it is. Your dealers not going to tear it down without authorization from Yamaha. If its not very loud, he would have to lie to get it warrantied. Keep your invoice and bring it back in a month. :agent:

HAHA I just read back to this post. Ive been working on carb problems all day, I meant Throttle body :P Cutter, the question is.....does it do it often enought to duplicate for your dealer service dept? Something for them to chase? I think these guys are down the right path.

Stock. Ive run plenty of K&N's to know that the film in the intake boot that is evident after long term use of metal mesh filters....got right past the filter. On my Ford, on my bikes doesnt matter, they let dirt by. Eventually anough will build up and you can wipe your finger through the film...

Intermittent how? Is the clunk sequential? Like a rotational clunk clunk... or a does it do it once and quit? And your saying the #4 carb loses vaccum and the slide drops?
