Michelin Road 6 vs Dunlop Roadsmart IV

Yeah I believe it after reading this review. I love VFRs so awesome that they used two identical ones lol. I had some kind of roadsmart on mine, but it was very bad. Bought it because it was cheap and available after a puncture, it slid all over in the rain. That might have been one of the...

    Getting a new bike, beamer...

Oh hey Rosskean, thanks. That's right I forgot you have a BMW, I didn't know you were on the ADVrider site. Are there any other good forums for those bikes? Yes, its gonna be very good for the more local explorative dirt road rides and such, just being able to go off on whatever random dirt road...

Michelin Road 6 vs Dunlop Roadsmart IV

Huh, I always saw the RoadSmarts as cheap and not very good. I'll have to consider them eventually. My Roadtec 01 rear finally showed the world it's cords at about 10,000-10,500 miles. Front is still fine for now. Getting a second bike so I should stop going through tires like my local county...

    Getting a new bike, beamer...

I'll still be here, sorry guys, I am still your problem. I test rode a 23 F750GS last weekend, I loved it a lot. Bike was low and light and easy to ride, fun, it fit perfectly. The new gizmos and electronics and doodads also tickled my fancy quite a bit, will be my first actually modern bike...

    Snow is ********

...the heck is the point of that? There's no snow on the ground.. I guess there's always the Dunlop Mutants, they are mud and snow rated.

What's that old website where people submit their highest mileage motorcycles?

Hell yes!! I've been looking for this for over an hour now. I even fired up my old "vfrworld.com" account to dig through their forums too...

What's that old website where people submit their highest mileage motorcycles?

I have no idea where it is now, but I used to know of a website I found in which people basically submitted their make/model/year of a motorcycle then how many miles they had and any issues they had. Does anyone know what it is? This was not that long ago, maybe a year. I logged my Interceptor...

Drive train "crashing" when engaged on a cold engine

Mine does it too. This bike's gearbox loves to just randomly sound like someone's chucking 10mm sockets at a metal toolbox. I worried too until I heard a brand new 2022 one do it lol

    Snow is ********

Those tires would look absolutely comical on an FJR haha. It's way heavier and more fragile than something I'd like to try and muscle around in the snow anyways. I think I'll just stick with avoiding the snow until the aforementioned small ADV bike plan can happen

    Snow is ********

First snowfall here. I can really tell these tires are bald now... Does literally anything with the throttle, bike responds with a burnout.

    Snow is ********

Some people are fair weather riders, I openly lack any common sense, so we're going for this

    Snow is ********

Yeah lol. I would not and cannot afford to buy a brand new bike, was going to find one a couple years old and put enough cages on it that I could just show up and lay er down like a kid getting off a bicycle. Awesome on those tires.... 100% bookmarking. Agree on studded tires and that's why I...

    Snow is ********

I want like two feet of snow once or twice in December or January. That way I get to see it and feel like I bought my truck tires for a reason. Then it can thaw out and the 4 month period of everything being dead and brown and cold and dark can end.

    Snow is ********

Next winter I am going to try and get a small ADV bike, like a KTM 390 or BMW G310GS, and I'm going to learn how to ride in the snow with it. Likely using snow skis like the swedish, or even studded tires

2007 waits until water pump failure doesn't create a disaster

Yeah... I'm sure the amount of vehicles damaged by people using incorrect fluids is like 25x less than vehicles damaged by "lifetime fluids" and just not being able to check the level of or quality of the fluids. OEMs don't give a shart about us using the wrong fluid, and heck, the wrong fluid...

Incriments On The Fjr Temp Gauge

Hey, let's revive this old as hell thread for a second time. I want to know a specific ballpark of what temperature my Gen 2 is running at. I've been riding below 30 the last few days and occasionally the bike does not hold the usual 4 out of 10 bars and sits at three. I've even seen it take...

2007 waits until water pump failure doesn't create a disaster

What coolant do you run? I just put the advance auto asian whatever in my bike. I knew about the no silicate thing before, so hopefully I made sure it didn't have it...

    Ebay special Kawai H2SXSE

This is almost entirely unrelated to your post. But can somebody explain to me why oh why in the world do they call/advertise the H2 as sport touring bike? Same with the Ninja 1000. It's just a liter bike.

2007 waits until water pump failure doesn't create a disaster

Yeah. Bah. I only have enough time to be a barfly in one internet forum. I'll take care of it when I get to it. I don't expect real advice about that here
