    Starter, relay or battery?

FYI: If you happen to have a CAA PLUS membership, it does cover your motorcycle, including boosting the battery. Before they boost the battery, they will load-test it at the roadside and let you know if you need a new battery. DAMHIK

    I dropped her again.

Glad to hear that the SW-Motech engine guards worked as intended. I have them installed on my 2007 FJR. Lucky for me, I have never "tested" them!

    06 FJR Fork Drain-Plugs

Jeff, Before you do anything, you might want to read this: https://www.fjr-tips.org/maint/ForkSeal-BushingReplacement.pdf There is a very nice description of how to remove the forks, how to remove the innards, how to build the special tools needed for re-assembly of the forks, how to...

    Extremely low MPG

"Under similar conditions the first bar lasted roughly 65kms, the next disappeared at perhaps 120. Look what followed me home!

I hear you on that sentiment. I, too had been thinking about buying a second bike for gravel and easy dirt. The problem is, I do not feel that I am competent-enough rider to go two-up on dirt tracks, even with a decent "adventure" bike. So, we just purchased 2 e-bikes, instead. Two new cost way...

    Givi Maxia Tail-Stop-Turn project

Rosskean, To answer your question: My wife followed me in her car and noted the following; in our residential area, where I ride very slowly (30 km/h) and brake very smoothly, the brakefree light does not activate. On city streets with traffic lights, it activates and is much more noticeable...

    Givi Maxia Tail-Stop-Turn project

That is one heck of a project and nicely done. Also way beyond my capabilitieso_O. I took an easier route: I bought a "Brake Free" helmet mounted brake light. It gives me a running light, a steady brake light with engine braking or slowing with the brakes, a strobing brake light with hard...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Yup, exactly that: it sounds like it misses occasionally while idling. It does not sound quite like the vid you posted.
