    Good day from Port Hueneme

Hi; Welcome. What's your history with the FJR?

TIRES?? What tires are everyone running on their FJR?

I would add aggressive closed throttle deceleration and shifting technique to the reasons mentioned above for increased tire wear rates. Smooth application of all control inputs with careful rev matching when shifting are your tires' best friends.

    Hello

Of course, you meant 100,000 in addition to the 60,000 already on the machine, right? :)

Welcome. I grew up around Lansing and have been in GR a few times. Oh, the nostalgia....

    Self Intro

Welcome. I'm about 50 miles from you. Sure sucks losing the windscreen like that.

    New UK member.

Entrance to the group apparently has few impediments. Has to be true since they let me in..... :) Lots of good reading here. Welcome.

    Unintended New Owner

Phew, dodged the beemer bullet there. Good job! I rode my 2013 on the stock seat for too long. I did Kansas twice on I-70 in hot humid windy weather on the same trip and was quite miserable both times. What sort of seat on your 2015?

    2013 FJR Rear Shock

You have tried using the stiffer spring setting and raised the compression damping??? I also have a 2013 with almost 52K on the clock and the first bit of suspension travel seems "undamped". I believe the rear suspension linkage is worn, since I've never greased it, and have a rebuilt modified...

    Another Hello from Indiana

Soooo, what's "high mileage"? That red on the 14's is really beautiful. Enjoy! BTW, welcome.

    Unexpected Ride Change

What a way to find the FJR and I'm so sorry that things went like that for you.

    I dropped her again.

What a bummer, RaiderBill. Dropping a streetbike just sucks no matter the outcome. Looks like you really lucked out with minimal damage. My 2013 rolled off the sidestand because I'm an ***** and the damage totaled $4K. This happened about 3 weeks after I bought it.

    Thousand mile day.

I managed a little over 1,000 miles in one day back in 2006 riding a 1000cc Kawasaki Concours on a trip where I had 2.5 days to get from Dayton, OH to Portland, OR. Sure was tired the next day and still had to go ~760 miles to get home. My best day on the FJR was ~760 miles on the stock seat in...

Looks like it was very well cared for. Great find.

    Hi and welcome.

    Gen 3 or 4?

For roughly $300.00 you can upgrade the clutch in the Gen3 with the Gen4 slipper/assist stuff if you are able to turn your own wrenches.

    My worst ride to date

Back in ~1997 a former Area Director for NW COG died in a similar scenario near Hillsboro OR. We are glad you came through pretty much unscathed.

    Hey all...nice to be here

That stock seat is not your friend on a long hot day in the saddle.... I did a 773 mile day which included the entire state of KS on I-70 5 years ago and the wind, heat and humidity were truely daunting. That's a great looking bike you got there. Welcome to the forum.

    Summer Jackets, Pants, and Gloves

I have a pair of perforated Cortech gloves with armoured knuckles and have been really happy with them. I also have a set of olympia "waterproof" gloves with thinsulate I use for cooler weather. I like these also but eventually in the wet my hands are soggy. Yes I saw that you avoid the rain and...
