    Andrew (OrangevaleFJR) remembrance

Many thanks for the "for fun" link, Don. THAT is the ride report most remember, so sad to see Andrew and Sherri on that ride a dozen years later. As we riders in NorCal know, that area is special anyway - in a mysterious, haunting, nostalgia inducing kind of way.

    Andrew (OrangevaleFJR) remembrance

Dave: Is that lunch in Markleeville, 2006? Looks like madmike in the yellow and a lot like my back, with a navy blue Michael's Cycle Works tee shirt whose logo looked like that. I was living in Gardnerville then, and I recall sitting in that corner of the patio, facing that direction. Thinking...

Neighbor went to Romania, hasn't come back!

Too many unknowns, but yeah, I'd be concerned already and looking hard for contacts. Info he left? Relatives, contacts, the e-mail address, telephone/text number, return addresses on mail, an internet search for relatives???

    Andrew (OrangevaleFJR) remembrance

A memorable early morning ride: rhythmic footpeg sparks on 1 between Leggett and the coast and Christy looking a little green at breakfast in Fort Bragg at 9:00 am. Madmike was along, but damn if I remember whether Bill (BBIII), my Fortuna motel roommate, was too. I sat on my bike while someone...

    Andrew (OrangevaleFJR) remembrance

Probably some complicated answers to those questions, and most of us probably only have partial answers to some of them. Sept. or Oct. 2006, heading home from Fortuna. Wasn't he supposed to leave with us down 101 to 1 to 20, but slept in instead?

So, I've been away for a bit. How the heck are ya?

I recall RadioHowie once noting a remarkable fact: the women associated with (e.g., married to, etc.) male FJR riders all suffer from blindness. Clearly, we both should be thankful for that disability. But "chick bait" is going to be a stretch if you venture outside the blind pool. BTW, how...

Yes, Barb, neighbor Doug does look like bait, regardless that ******** about getting better looking.

Sounds like you need something to do. Hmmmm, . . . retiring, has the IT tech skills, . . . . TAG, YOU'RE IT, DON! JSNS and Hugs n' Kisses

    Andrew (OrangevaleFJR) remembrance

dcarver mentioned Andrew in another thread this morning. And it occurred to me that one of the saddest days ever on this forum was 10 years ago today. That morning, Andrew took his own life. Today, that seems too vivid to believe it was ten years back. Numerous times over the years, especially...

CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

Don't remember how I did it, but it must've been simple -- I changed my e-mail and address in their database and then registered without a glitch. Your attendance is mandatory, of course!

Yikes, Tyler?!? Sorry to read that. But lord knows that you have overcome far worse challenges before. You are loved and have lots of friends.

Older. Retired Unemployed. Lost a good feline friend. Gained best woman ever. Ride less. Golfing again. Still skiing and working on the house. Did I mention older? Oh yeah, guess I did . . . vision, hearing and memory fading. Glad to see you back again and feisty as ever.

So, where does it go from here? I understand that maintaining and running this site probably went from love to labor to PITA a while back, and that it must seem worse as time goes by. I know that I couldn't bear to do what Iggy and other admins (is it just Bounce now?) keep having to do to keep...

    Quiet Forum These Days?

Maybe not, but I've noted that you have a new herd of sexy little goats a couple hundred yards west of your hacienda down on 174. Oh **** -- sorry neighbor, I mighta gone off-topic -- I woulda sworn that the thread content was about sheep and goats? Or yoga in ballet tutus? Aren't you on the...

CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

I think it's safe to ride to the border with him, or a mile short of it. Send him ahead, wait 5 - 10 minutes and then proceed to the checkpoint. If he's through, great. You can catch him on the other side. But if he's stuck in interrogation, just ride on past, pretending you've never seen him...

PWI? I mean - the non-sequiturs alone. Still, it's your house.

Michelin Road 5 coming to a store near you...soon!

Wow - in addition to claims of wet, dry and track time performance, it sounds like this may be the first tire technology to professionally perform fellatio when it's not being ridden. Wondering how they perform on Canada's wood surfaced (slick as snot) bridges. Actually, though - thanks for the...

CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

Too late. I note that SkooterG has registered. But until dolly and AJ register, we might yet be safe. After all these years, there's another chance to meet board legends, and to ROTFLMAO . . . again . . . with/at some of that riff raff.

CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

Exactly! In 2009, our FJR riding Canuckistani contingent put on CFR in this Lodge in Nakusp, and though we had some rain (I've been told that the hosts have requested sunny and clear weather for the 2018 reprise of that event), that remains the best meet ever in my mind. The hosts, the location...
