When you have something that ails you you take meds for it. If you have a seat that bothers you, you change it. Or you can do nothing and whine about it.

Is that support along the inside of the muffler going to interfere with the pumpkin when it travels up and down with the suspension?

Generally the rear brake is used in trail braking. If you're using the front brakes then all you are doing is late braking. And it gets "complicated" with linked brakes. If you are turning in and leaning over and use that front lever you're inviting a low side.
