Nah it's cool. I've found it's rare when somebody takes things personally, it usually gets obviously ugly real fast. Reading something can sometimes get misinterpreted because you don't get the tone of voice the post was "said" in. I'll often point someone to the owner's manual or search...

I may be reading it wrong but I don't think Yamaha sells any other levers for the FJR. Aren't the stockers adjustable? On the high end there is ASV and Pazzo and at the other end is CRG and the many Ebay brands. I happen to have CRG (or maybe it's CNR?) shorties that fold up in case of a tip...

Yes I know that. I figured it out by reading my manual where it said the throttle must be closed (or something like that). ;)

A couple of points here.... I personally did not have the answer to the OP's question as I have a Gen 3. And the OP said he was still very unfamiliar with his bike. When somebody says that it's almost a given, they did not read the owner's manual. The manual contains plenty of good info...

Directing the OP to the owner's manual does answer the question, as the answer to the question is contained in it. It also helps the OP with any other questions he may have.

The plate that is removed to install the Helibars have studs welded to it that feed up thru the bars. Instead, you can use some large fender washers and nuts underneath in place of that plate on the underside and feed bolts thru the top. You may need shorter bolts too but that's about it really.

I read that someone was looking for one off of an ES. If you find it not bent I'll send him your way.

Only way to find out is remove them and try it. If you like it then leave them off.

You'll want a narrow tank bag more than a low profile. If the bag isn't narrow, you'll hit the switch gear at full lock.

You say front end is gone. Does that include the lower triple and steering stem?

LED's have been discussed so many times if you do a search you'll find a ton of suggestions.

I'm with Ross, too small for any extended trip and very pricey for what it is. But you seem to want a "brand name". You got Gucci riding boots? :LOL: Your money, have at it.

What Gen does it fit and where are you located?

We may never know. The OP has been back several times and not given any update. Doesn't seem inclined to help others. :(
