    If not now, when?

Excellent RR and great pics. Looking forward to sharing more of our state with you next year if you are able to work it into your busy riding schedule. I'm certain your presence is going to be in great demand - you are a fjrforum superstar for sure, and for damn good reason! Not a lot more I...

Sunday Stroll thru Selma, AL and Old Cahawba

Thanks for all of the nice comments everyone! I'm really enjoying having the new Samsung S7. Takes great pics and with the photos automatically uploaded to my Photobucket account, makes it simple to throw a little report together for the forum and post it up. I really had not even planned to...

    Miles To Go

I'm honored to be the first to congratulate my friend, Pants, on this wonderful ride report! What an insightful recap of an excellent journey, that as you point out, many people simply will not take. Like you, I feel blessed to have the trifecta as well, in addition to the friends with whom...

SFO 2016 - Oct. 27th thru Oct. 30th in Jemison, Alabama!

My dear Farrier, You must realize by now that YOU have become a "forum idol". Knowing I had only one night to meet and visit it was not "worth it" for me to ride all the way up there. Yeah, I wanted to meet FJRBandit and several others. Yeah, Pop needed to go ride somewhere. But work...

Sunday Stroll thru Selma, AL and Old Cahawba

My buddy DeShan and I took a little 150 mile ride down to Selma, AL today and then rode over to the archaeological park that is the site of Alabama's first state capitol, Old Cahawba. There's nothing there now except the layout of the old streets and a few remnant foundations. But one can only...

I get it Neihart! Poolboy was the first to leave for SFO, Saturday, Oct. 22nd and he's the last one to make it home. Good on ya PB! Glad everyone is home safe and had a good time. We'll have to kick around ideas for next year. BTW - LA2wheeler came up with an idea and wanted to have a...

    2015 FJR

My AE took a crap just after 100K (burned intake valve - didn't do the 75K valve check - yes, I'm a *******) and I ended up with an awesome '08 A that I bought from a forum member. Like you, I knew I would miss my AE and that has panned out. But, there are advantages to the A, it's just...

SFO 2016 - Oct. 27th thru Oct. 30th in Jemison, Alabama!

Here are the two routes we chose for Friday and Saturday. Given the large group we had to somewhat limit the number of turns and intersections, so we didn't delve quite as deep as we could have. But both days were great rides. I'm also posting the google map links so that you can zoom in and...

SFO 2016 - Oct. 27th thru Oct. 30th in Jemison, Alabama!

Nice video Doug! For those that aren't aware, that road is a scenic byway that runs approximately 40 miles along a ridgeline from Cheaha State Park to Heflin, AL. The pavement was redone in the past six months or so and was in about as perfect condition as pavement can be. While there really...

That's roughly half - also heard from almost everyone else in other posts. Me and the missus stuck around a few more hours, burned some trash, swept a little bit, gathered chairs, took lights down and then took a nice soak in the hot tub. Then we eased on home around 5 p.m. to see our waiting...

SFO 2016 - Oct. 27th thru Oct. 30th in Jemison, Alabama!

So, we put a wrap on SFO 2016 this morning with the departure of all of the attendees. I'll expand more as I respond to others ride reports as they begin to roll in. But I did want to say thank you to everyone for your over generous comments. Mrs. Bandit and I were just happy that everyone...

SFO 2016 - Oct. 27th thru Oct. 30th in Jemison, Alabama!

Quick report from the Stampede Steakhouse and Catfish Corral in Talladega. I have to say, we have a wonderful group of 20 plus. The ridding yesterday was awesome, the weather is warm but perfect, the shrimp and corn boil last night was over the top and our guitarist blew us all away, especially...

SFO 2016 - Oct. 27th thru Oct. 30th in Jemison, Alabama!

That's typically how I roll at 80 and below, lined pants, but with mesh jacket instead and layer up in the morning, peel off layers as the day warms up, then reverse if necessary into the late afternoon.
