    T-rex slider manufacturing error!!

It DID fail at the void. As I posted on "Gravel Devil ate my 07" I had noticed a fracture in the Delrin material just before the crash and was planning on replacing it. The fracture point was concurrent with the break location during the crash and was the weak point in which it propagated from...

    T-rex slider manufacturing error!!

I examined the slider and found the end of it hit the ground and several strong impact points were in it. This would lead me to believe that it absorbed some energy before being broken off. It definitely dint fall off.

Looking for a GPS for about $200 to $300

I have a Garmin 2610 and I love it. It doesn't give text to speech but I don't listen to the directions audibly anyway. I have come up with a better solution to it. I recently got an LG VX9700(DARE) phone from Verizon wireless. It has a better GPS navigator on it if you "listen" to the...

    Venture Air knee pad sloppy?

I'm very glad that the pants worked well in a crash and that YOU weren't injured severely. The issue may be just psychological on my part. After seeing how important the gear is in a crash, I just don't want to have any doubt about it's effectiveness. :) Shawn

    T-rex slider manufacturing error!!

After looking VERY closely at the broken T-rex slider from my recent get off, I found this!! Look near the mounting location of the attachment bolt. THERE IS A VOID IN THE MATERIAL. This would cause a weakness in the structure!!! Be careful of the T-rex stuff. They were cheap but, now I can see...

    Venture Air knee pad sloppy?

Thanks for the tip! I love my Tourmaster jacket and have replaced it with the same model. The fit, comfort and function is fnatastic. But the pants are just like you describe, "the knee pads in the pants ride on the inside of my knee". Exactly! I will find a place to try on the Airboss pants...

    Venture Air knee pad sloppy?

Thanks for the tip! I love my Tourmaster jacket and have replaced it with the same model. The fit, comfort and function is fnatastic. I will find a place to try on the Airboss pants as stated above. I think this may be just an engineering issue with venture air.

    Venture Air knee pad sloppy?

Yes! Just to the inside of the knee!! OK, that confirms that it is likely a manufacture/design issue and probably not a fitment issue. Mine are exactly the same way. :)

    Venture Air knee pad sloppy?

Howdy, After sending my 07 back to the barn by way of a gravel covered road, I find myself shopping for some new gear. I have a tourmaster transition series 2 jacket that gave its life for my skin and I'm getting duplicate of it. It did it's job admirably. I do have concerns about my Venture...

    Gravel Devil ate my 07

I would like to have seen that!! I actually, don't feel too bad about the incident or the legal mumbo-jumbo that gets thrown around when rules regarding money are on the table. The ins. co. is just trying to do their job. I feel VERY fortunate that I was uninjured and have learned a piece or...

    Gravel Devil ate my 07

Hi airboss, Here is the way I see that. Tell me what you think. After speaking to the insurance co., they stated to me that the label "At-Fault" was due to the fact that I was traveling too fast for the given road conditions. Technically, that is correct however, while taking...

    Gravel Devil ate my 07

This is all good stuff! I agree now that apexing a corner may be better left to the track as theoretical practice will apply more often (i.e. controlled conditions) in that arena. I did note after looking at the crash photos that the bike and I stayed exclusively in the proper lane for the given...

Thanks for that tip! That is the kind of information that only experience can provide and is better known before hand. :)

    Gravel Devil ate my 07

No yearly dues?? I wish I had found out that before I paid $1000 to the insurance co. :derisive:

    Gravel Devil ate my 07

From what I have been able to find, it only allows the insurance company's to increase your rates legally.
