    Dash/Instrument Panel Backlight Replacement

I searched the forum for info on this before I tore into it & I didn't find anything, so hopefully this will be useful to someone: On a recent trip I lost three of my four dash backlights, one by one, over the course of one evening. I called ahead to a Yamaha dealership where I had a tire...

    10 n' 10 Rally

Hey all - Finally dragged myself home & am slowly returning to the real world. I had a blast & it was great fun knowing that you guys were following along. I logically knew that people were watching, but the extent of your involvement didn't really hit me until I was making the push for the...

    ~FOLLOW ME~ On the 10n10 Endurance Rally

I've heard rumors that there will be a few familiar names... :derisive: Awesome set-up RJ - too bad I won't have time to enjoy it! I'll have to let the old man know.

    49'er ride coming up

Perfect - that's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks!

    49'er ride coming up

Anybody know off hand what the speed limit is on 49? I've been trying to find that info for a couple weeks with no luck. Last time I rode it was a few years back and I don't remember it being particularly slow, but I've been finding stuff that is calling it "super twisty" and very slow. Thanks!

    WWW ride report

Are you kidding?!? I'm just barely caught up on my sleep at this point!! I'm 2 rallies behind on my reports, but I plan on writing something for the WWW for sure because it was a great adventure. I would like to point out that I came in 7th (which is an intersting story in and of...

    '05 ABS Wheel on '05 Non-ABS Bike

And so, without further ado: Old, ouchie wheel Voila! New, happy, non-bendy ABS wheel on non-ABS bike! Thanks MadMike and... ahem,... RenoJohn. Piece of cake!

    '05 ABS Wheel on '05 Non-ABS Bike

LMAO - Ahh, if I had a nickle for every time I heard that, I'd be $0.05 richer than the guys who just "won" Hoka Hey. I stand by my original estimate that my condition on Monday morning was 75% sick and only 25% hangover. How accurate that was, I can't say for sure, but it made me feel better...

    '05 ABS Wheel on '05 Non-ABS Bike

You guys are awesome!! That's exactly the type of brilliant insight I was seeking! Since my ABS wheel cost like $150 and a "new" non-ABS is hovering around $600, I'm propably going to go ahead and see if I can make it work. I figure if RenoJohn sez I'm a go, well... It's probably a lie. But...

    '05 ABS Wheel on '05 Non-ABS Bike

Let me just say right up front that I'm sure this information is floating around somewhere and I have spent several hours looking for it, but I'm not turning up exactly what I need. I'm finding general references to it having been done, and I'm sure some industrious soul will be able to turn up...

New cell is installed - Big thanks!

I had this cell expanded to a greater volume, so the dimensions aren't the same. (I did reference your gallery pic when I was talking to LindaT about mine though!) I'm also envisioning some cool weighted flaps that will cover the sides of the under-tank area but still leave it easily...

New cell is installed - Big thanks!

Are you kidding?!? I had pictures and measurements off to LindaT before I even finished installing it! I briefly had visions of making my own cover, which included scenes of broken sewing machines, scissor-related trips to the hospital, and a staggeringly expensive, yet virtually useless...

New cell is installed - Big thanks!

Alrighty, here are the goods: And for those of you who are interested in laughing at my idiocy and self-inflicted mental anguish, here is a link to my Cal24 Ride Report: https://www.beyondthegarage.com/cal24.html

KING'S CYN & SEQUOIA TO KERN RIVER

Stop by and say Hi to us on your way! I hardly ever get out to play anymore, but/because we have a motorcycle shop in Kernville. As you are coming down from McNally's, after you make the right hand turn to head into Kernville we are the very first driveway on your right (in the old Dam...

New cell is installed - Big thanks!

I don't have any pics at the moment - I'm actually sitting at the Cal24 starting line, ready to give my new toy it's first official shake-down. What I had to do on the seat was drill out the two rivets that hold the latch in place, then undo some of the seat leather at the rear and create a...

New cell is installed - Big thanks!

Hey y'all - I just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to everyone in this forum for sharing their opinions, feedback, and experiences with regards to their fuel cells. After more than a year of serious hemming and hawing, weighing all your input, etc, etc, I finally decided to go with a Sampson...

    Horn Guard

You'd be surprised! I was playing with it yesterday and I assure you that it leaves plenty of space for me to accidentally actuate it with my thumb. But, hey - I am an exceptionally hard case, so expecting it to completely eliminate ALL sources of horn embarassment is a lot to ask from a...

    Horn Guard

I finally got tired of making an *** out of myself. (A horn guard isn't going to completely fix that, but it's a start.) I had a local machinist make this for me. It is a good heavy-duty steel, so it works by pushing my tank bag away as I turn the handlebars while still allowing my thumb...

    Paso Robles "eats"

Most of the good places I knew in Paso are no more; If you ride a bit south to Templeton, there is a place called McFee's Grill on Main Street. They are an outstanding restaurant. Not super cheap, but not ridiculously expensive and they never had a problem with me rolling in in filthy riding...

Sampson Fuel Cell - Not the Taildragger

You can use my bike as a design guinea pig for a little compensation. Ooooh, you beat me to the punch! :evil2: I was going to try to finess him a little first
