There really is a first time for everything

Great - then it can be passed around this forum as the "Waiting for Russell Special", much like the town bicycle!

    2014 ES 15,000 Mile Update

Wait, what....? I'm not supposed to do that?

    2014 ES 15,000 Mile Update

As for the front vs. rear thing I don't think weight is much of a factor. I'm not fat (169 lbs) and my front OEM BT023 was squarer than that old Rubik’s Cube that I never could solve way before the rear was even near the wear bars. I’m getting much more even wear on my current T30-GTs.

    Bag Rash!

And yet you couldn't resist clicking on the thread just to scratch that itch of curiosity, huh?

    Bag Rash!

I've got my fingers crossed that you'll do what I did with mine - drop it without doing any damage. It seems to be very cathartic (but wait 'til the sliders are on)! Next time I'm in or around NH (okay, the first time I'm there) I'll watch for you and your big grin out on the road. And if you...

    Bag Rash!

Geez Fred, you don't even have the ES yet and already your old steed has become a guinea pig. That was quick! Before you know it you'll be trying stem cell therapy on it so see if it can grow a new set of iridium plugs or something.

    2013 Trip meter reset

Keep talking like that and you'll have all the local dealers with an ES in stock inviting you out for beers (just 'cause you're a nice guy, of course).

Are you sure that's Skooter's bike? Looks to me like he's carefully placing a booger in that shot, but I could be wrong. Congrats on the new bike Fred. Sounds like a hell of a day you had - too bad every day can't be like Christmas, huh?

Custom Seats - Who does what

Money was no object for me, but I went with vinyl for the low maintenance and water resistance aspects. No regrets whatsoever.

Lesson #17 for Fifty-Something, New FJR Owners with Bad Backs

As mentioned above a 190/55 is taller than the stock 180/55 - 5.5 mm bigger in radius, to be exact (at least theoretically). The centre stand lift wasn't the reason I made the change but I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get it up after I changed my rubber.

Custom Seats - Who does what

My impression, from a combination of what I've read here and my experience buying tandem RDLs, is that: a. You really can't go wrong with a Russell (who thinks about the extra $100 they spent after several tens of thousands of miles of comfort?) b. Laam has a well-earned reputation for...

Just to see if i could do it.

I gotta ask...what is it that you painted? It kind of looks like a Pittsburgh Penguins practice jersey or something!

Congrats! Time to update your profile.

    Bridgestone T30 GT Tire Review

I'm starting to be convinced by Fred's logic. There's no doubt in my mind that the T30 front is longer lasting than the OEM BT023s. The jury is still out for me on the T30 rear, but I'm only at a little under 5000 km on it. So far it looks good but if it craps out early I see no reason not to...

    Gone Without a Trace

Yeah, but there's about 3 or 4 Harley dealers that he could have stopped at (or been towed to) along the way.
