    Battery Access 2013/Gen III

You missed it... but not in this thread. See this one: https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php/topic/155322-gen3-battery-access-made-easier/

    Powere Commander V on Genlll

Unlike most here I use Touring mode when riding solo and Sport mode when 2-up, fully-loaded. The extra weight of a full load smoothes out Sport mode so that it feels remarkably like Touring mode when solo. I end up having a consistent throttle response all the time, regardless of my load...

Poll: How fast have you been on an FJR?

I'm no expert, but I believe that any bike can go into a speed wobble under the right (wrong?) circumstances: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_wobble I think it relates to the fundamentals of motorcycle dynamics, including that natural front-tire oscillation thing that keeps bikes upright...

    How many riders ride 2-up?

Hey - it's happened before and it could happen again (DAMHIK).

    How many riders ride 2-up?

By number of times on the bike: 55% solo By km/miles ridden: 98% 2-up I'll often jump on the bike solo for a quick evening/weekend ride or occasional work commute, but most of my mileage (by far) is from when I go touring (weekends, long weekends and vacations) - which is...

Poll: How fast have you been on an FJR?

I just wish the cops around here were a little more diligent about ticketing those they catch see in the act, never mind probing the internet for admissions against interest.

Front Tire - New PR 4 - Starting to cup after only 1,200 miles

As suggested by my tongue-in-cheek "correction" of bigjohnsd's post above ("defective tire gauge technician"), I truly believe the problem in my case and likely many others is ignorance by the techs. Both of my tires were bang-on 31 PSI, which I think would be unlikely if a tech tried to...

Front Tire - New PR 4 - Starting to cup after only 1,200 miles

I picked up my newly-installed T30s a few weeks ago with 31 PSI both front and back. Didn't really surprise me though, as the local dealership specializes in dirt bikes/quads/snomobiles, etc. and I don't think they'd ever heard of an FJR before I brought mine in. Not much choice though, short...

    Bridgestone T30 GT Tire Review

With just over 2,500 miles on my T30 GTs there's just a bit of flattening happening on the rear tire but the front looks like new. This seems to be the opposite of what I saw with the OEM BT023s, where the front was squaring off very early on. I've also noticed a big difference in cornering...

    Backrest VS Top Case

Same here - no need for any pads if you have a top case and your passenger wears a padded jacket. "Need" is hard to define when it comes to luggage but I use my top case almost all the time and wouldn't go without it.

Creative Solution to Aging Gen 1 Issues

I've been getting that all the time lately... but only when I use my (Windows) tablet - no issues on the laptop. <shrug>

"Loose" noise on Gen III from front end?

Well, I guess I'll give that a peek when I'm checking my tire pressure before heading out on my 5,000 km trip tonight!

Works for me. Great shots anyhow Iggy. Enjoy your ride (I know you will).

Creative Solution to Aging Gen 1 Issues

I've seen the Yamaha advertising... "Conquer Road", 'Conquer Trail", etc. but I don't remember "Conquer Cornfield!" ;-)

"Loose" noise on Gen III from front end?

Funny this topic should come up. I recently rode a short distance without ear plugs (I almost always wear them) and noticed what I think is the noise you’re describing when going over some bumpy surfaces. I was worried that when doing some recent farkling I hadn’t quite gotten the fairings...

Life with the 2014 FJR - good stuff!

I won't be around for the next couple of weekends but other than that feel free to drop me a note if you're passing through (this is to any forum members).

Generation II and '13/'14 Gen III general questions

Well I'll be riding in the USA next week, so I guess I have a reason to do the test!

Generation II and '13/'14 Gen III general questions

Hmm... makes me wonder - are the Canadian bikes somehow built differently or is it just that they can't do the math to convert to km/h properly? I'm not the only Canadian owner who's seen speedo errors in the 10% range. Even with my new 190/55 tire mounted it's closer to GPS "actual" but still...

Generation II and '13/'14 Gen III general questions

FWIW, don't count on the speedo being accurate, and although I have nothing to compare it to, I've had most of the plastic off mine with no great difficulty.

Generation II and '13/'14 Gen III general questions

    1. No need for a Throttlemeister on a '14 (unless you plan on riding for long periods faster than whatever insane limit is on that year's CC (100 MPH if I remember correctly). The '13 is limited at 80(ish) MPH. Not a concern for many of us but seemingly a big deal for a lot of speed demons...
