Hi All,
I stopped by my local dealer (Apex Sports in Colorado Springs, CO) and they said my FJR 'should' arrive on Tuesday! I guess I 'might' just get mine in the month of April after all... :)
BTW, I am receiving their first FJR as I was the first order taken.
I can't wait.... :)
The USA keys do not have the micro chip immobilizer, but they do have the little button for 'remote start'... I can't wait to get mine and try it out... :)
Chuck,
When I added a bunch of farkles to my GL1800A I used some electrical tape and a Sharpie. Of course, black tape doesn't work very well, but it is available in white, red, green, etc... It worked really well for me, butt... YMMV... :)
Stef & Chris,
Sorry to hear about your accident... but happy to hear you were wearing your 'proper riding costume'...
ATGATT!
I hope you heal well and fast!
Hi All,
I have posted before about getting either the Yamaha factory Sliders (TOG's) or the Police 'crash guards'.
Does anyone know where I can purchase these in the USA? I have heard the the FJR was being used (somewhere) in the USA for Police Bikes, but have not found a source for the...
Hi Alex (and all)!
I just sent $15 via PayPal for two Dark Blue FJR1300 patches. Thanks for doing this for the group!
I am planning on ordering some stickers and possibly the reflective panels for the back of the bike...once it get it... :)
Hi All,
I contacted Yamaha about this last year when I 'almost' bought a 2005. A guy pre-ordered it from my local dealership and wanted to get out of the deal. I was told to pay him $500 (therefore returning his deposit) and then the $500 he paid as a deposit would now be 'mine' (as long as I...
Thanks David,
Nice job on your tanks!
I'm probably going to remove the pillion seat and mount the fuel cell there.
I used a Peterson Fluids fuel valve (wholesale ~$100), but like the Pingle valve idea too (I have a Pingle cleanable inline filter on mine).

Ya know... I haven't made the 'procedure' obvious enough to draw attention to myself. I gues the old " don't knock it until you've tried it " saying really comes into play on this one.
Tick or No Tick... I'm buying a new FJR1300A. I agree that a "YES" plan is a good investment for this bike. I plan to RIDE IT, and if it does 'break' I will hope that Yamaha stands behind their product.
Regarding the color... I figure if I put enough crap on the bike (farkles) the color won't...
I 'finally' got to sit on a '06 today at the International Motorcycle Show in Denver. Very nice! I really like the blue color and I normally prefer lighter colors.
I was trying to find out about the 'tick' issue, but those working the booth were not very knowledgeable or helpful...
I can't...
Hi All,
"They work for me!"
O.K., picture this... you have to piss like a wild stallion as you pull into a fuel stop. With a external catheter things are easy... without one you have to run inside, possibly wait in line, and then undo your riding gear just to take a leak.
I've used the...
I appreciate the feedback, and agree that right now it would be best to wait until the 2006 bike are 'out'.
I am going to try to attend the International Motorcycle Show in Denver next weekend, so hopefully I will be able to check out the '06 model.
Thanks!
-Uncle Bud :)
Hi All,
I've already posted an introduction to the 'newbie' forum, so now "onward with the education!".
I ordered my 2006 FJR1300A last week <BFG> and am starting to figure out what farkles I want to add.
I did a search on fuel cells, but did not find what I was looking for. I am...
Hi All,
About a year and a half ago I was e-mailing Warchild about IBA 'stuff'. He helped me realize that my HD was not the 'best' ride for long distance riding (at least not for me).
So... I sold it and bought a 2004 GL1800A (I felt I just needed all of the 'stuff' that my HD Ultra had)...
