I got mine in the mail today. Glad I got in for one of the last two. It's a work of art that will see a lot of use. I'll be able to start trashing some of the junk knives while she isn't looking.

I've made sure that bike is not allowed in the state of Oregon.😁 This engine uses a proprietary thermostat and we have 2 NOS units. Both work properly. I believe Don's latest round  of testing shows the guage to be correct.  I told him to stop messing with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it. 👌

You're gonna be cussing  the Kawasaki gods when you work on the carbs. The R&R is easy getting the tops off is a little different and the center carb is a bit of a *****. I think the last time I did them, you had me lower the needles a notch cause you thought it was to rich.

I'll check on it and see what Doug wants to do with it. I know at one time he intended to get it going as a semi custom bobber but I don't think it's been touched in a few years.

The one at MotoFantasy is the one I'm talking about. It just sits there doing nothing. Doug doesn't rent it out anymore cause it's to old for his insurance to cover. At least that's what he told me. He also has a KZ1300 that has been totally *******ized that will probably never run.

I don't intend to buy it, I'm gonna  steal it.😁

I never should have let him have that one back. It's one sweet ride. There is a white one locally that I think has my name on the list.

The LED upgrade is well worth the pain in the *** of the install. Make sure to test the install before final assy. The led's are polarity sensitive.  I had to turn a couple in the socket. They also save a few watts of juice.

Just for info, it's not a restoration but an original. It was carefully disassembled, everything cleaned and serviced by the book and put back to like new. The only things outsourced were getting the carbs done by a specialist and new oil cooler lines. I only wish I could have kept it but it...

I'm afraid if the KZ1300 returned, it could be a one way trip. It's not really a bad bike , it just hates me and the feeling is mutual.😝 

I really hated to give this one back to him. Always thought the CBX was a great looking bike and this one is very nice. To bad he had to put that damn Carver tape on it to mark his spot. :nono:
