    New Bike Choice

I'm going to buy a new bike in 2022. It will be a sport tourer and not an ADV bike. That's where my proclivity lies and that's how I roll. I only know two things for sure, it will have a shaft and it will be blue. I hate chains and I love blue. That really pushes things towards the...

    2022 Yamaha FJR

Well ****. There goes my BMW. 2022 FJR in the exact color I wanted. Time for a new bike. Edit: Just looked it over and it looks like the 2020 bike with a new color. This is getting old. Maybe the Beemer is still in the works....

Opinions Wanted on Retiring to Puget Sound

Given all the suggestions for the Puget Sound area, I'm partial to the Anacortes area.  Nice little seaside town with a deceptively sophisticated population.  The west side of town facing the San Juans is nice territory.  The only downside is that SR20 can get busy sometimes and it's a bit of a...

    Givi V46 Affects Handling

There's been a lot of chat over the years about head shake with hands off the bars causes and solutions. I think we've all come to the conclusion that it's just a thing and if we don't take our hands off the bars it's not an issue.  I can say that I never noticed that phenomenon until I put on a...

Wobble and Weave explained by Murray Walker

Aww.. That was fun.  Infectious enthusiasm all the way through. I don't know if the lay down trick would have worked in time for some of the tank slappers I used to take riding dirt bikes back in the day.  Those were usually so violent, and my *** was grabbing the seat so hard, I don't think I...

    NEED ASSISTANCE

Per the Owner's Manual, when the fuel gage blinks, there is a fault in the fuel monitoring system.  I'd lift the tank and start looking at the connections.  Might just be a poor contact if they haven't been manipulated in awhile. Might be more serious.

Gen II clear front turn signal lens?

Like all forums, this place has it's own identity.  It's not as rough and tumble as some of the others I've been on, but unless you hang out here for awhile it can be hard to pick up on the vibe.  I will say that if you wander in here as a ****, it doesn't take long to find the door.  But, if...

Backfire Motorcycle Night Spring Opener is March 20, 2019.

That kind of sucks. The SODO location was just about perfect.  Right down the street from work.

Gen II clear front turn signal lens?

Whoa... That's some sandy vag right there.  This can be a smartass crowd, but they are most definitely not fuckheads. Fuckhead.

    computer

I'm partial to a Surface. Get it with a keyboard and pen. Way lighter and easier carry than a laptop. Easier to pack on the FJR. Much easier to use on your lap. The keyboard looks cheesy but it really isn't and works very well and comes off with a tug. It's held on with magnets. Tablet...

The North Cascade Highway SR20 is OPEN!

I've seen lots of WSP on that road. During the height of the season they tend to make daily sweeps along the route looking for accidents/disabled vehicles and other issues. I've never seen them running a radar trap up on the pass (that doesn't mean they don't) but I have been pulled over up...

Well, time to gas up the SR500 for Backfire. Since The SHOP is just down the street from work, I have no excuse for not going.
