I would connect it to a switched circuit on a fuse block. Install an Eastern Beaver or other brand of fuse block - most of them offer a couple of un-switched circuits in addition to the switched circuits.

50 kmh is about 32 mph. I would be in higher rev 2nd or just into 3rd. I would think 4th gear would be very jerky - almost no throttle.

This is really a personal preference. Low profile (short bodied) ear buds work best for me. I bought a pair of the Shure SE215s and they are great set of ear buds. I struggle getting my helmet on with them. I went back to using the short bodied sennheisers.
