    E-15

The phase "corn welfare" in and of itself is political. Thread closed. If you want to try again keep it on technical topics, good luck.

How to attach rubber protetive strip on saddlebags

FYI, the factory adhesive is a black RTV silicone, and that's what I used to re-attach after painting. I tried 3M tape first, but the added thickness of the tape made for a large gap and poor visual result.

    Helmet strike

That's what you get for changing channels. Don't you know you're supposed to just pick one and stay there? Glad the occasion didn't end differently...

    BUSTER'S BBQ ! January 29th 3 PM

For your consideration: Member Marcusorelius's sister owns the Mi Famiglia Wood Oven Pizzaria in Oregon City. Map Just tryin' to keep it in the family. I've heard rave reviews from Galaxyblue. Otherwise, let me know when!

    Lawn mower EXPLOSION narrowly avoided!

Consider this a warning. Keep the thread non-political if you want to continue talking about lawn mowers.

    Saddle Bag Liners

I went through two pairs of the Bestem brand bags in very short succession (less than 3 months) before I finally broke down and bought OEM replacements. The Bestem bags all 4 failed at the zippers. On a couple the metal part of the zipper broke, and on a couple more the fabric on either side...

Might find what you need here from when I was installing my cruise control.

    charging reading 17+volts

Your charging voltages should not be that high. I would suspect that all of the electrical hijinks have damaged the regulator/rectifier which limits your system voltage. It could have been damaged by the previous owner, and the high system voltage killed the "new" battery he installed to...

Current top of the line Auxiliary light set up?

Lumens aren't a measure of usable light. Lumens are measurement of how much light the element is producing, without regard to output pattern. You should be more interested in the lux measurements of a light at a known distance. This is the measurement of light falling on a target, which is...

    F3500: 1, Porsche: 0

I did see a study a while back that indicated being in conversation (with or without the person in the car) cause the majority of the distraction. The holding of the device was a minority (20%) of the attention used. The study showed drivers talking with a passenger just as distracted as a...

    Green grade doug fir

"Green" in this case means the wood is still fresh, wet, and not seasoned. Far from kiln dried, this wood isn't dried at all. As mentioned above, you would be best served to re-stack the wood properly with stickers (spacers) for air flow. The wood should dry for a while, longer than it sounds...

    Leather Jacket Repair

I think Don hit the nail on the head near the end of his post. Your best bet for a local option is probably going to be an auto upholstery shop. Find one that's used to putting zippers on leather seat covers and they shouldn't have any problems. About your only other option is going to be a...

    braided hoses......?

There are a few reputable brands, any of which should be equal in performance: Galfer, HEL, and Speigler come to mind. The only real piece of advice I have to offer is go for the 3 line front kit, not the 2 line. The 2 line front kits are nearly impossible to mount properly without the lower...

    ATGATT and suitcases

I tried to take our helmets as carryon during a trip to Hawaii. One of the small connecting flight planes wouldn't fit the helmets in the overhead bin, and there wasn't an "under the seat in front of you" option because we were in the front. Stewardess tried to give me flac, until I put the...

Solicitation for routes in the NAFO ride area

Never ridden it, but the devil's triangle north of Knoxville had a great word of mouth in the area. I'm not sure of the exact route, though.

A Second Riding Gear Co. here in my little town..

I have a less than positive review of Klim. I purchased one of their waterproof shells for use snowboarding and snowmobiling. I used the jacket for 3 sessions, and the waterproof lining on the inside of the goretex started flaking off in several spots on the back. I sent the jacket back to...

    GPS on my Android

Google navigation doesn't require access to the network the whole time. I've loaded navigation while in a network, and traveled to a destination out of network without problems. Of course, you're screwed if you're out of network and need directions back!
