    TWN 2 years on.......

Something I haven't shared on the forum before, and one of my strongest memories of Tim: Just before WFO in '07, I had lost my job and had been unemployed for almost 3 months. I was living in Tennessee at the time, and having a hard time finding work. There just weren't any jobs available in...

    Phone, GPS, MP3 Inputs

I use a chatterbox XBi for a similar setup. I have it connected via bluetooth to my Ipod, and to my phone. It can also accept a wired input for the MP3 player. It works fairly well, though I wasn't too impressed with the included helmet speakers. It will accept standard headphones so long as...

    Gen 1 front brake upgrades?

Just my opinion, but if you upgrade the front lines go for the 3 line kit, not the 2 line. I haven't found a good way to mount the 2 line kit without the lower triple clamp causing damage to the lines.

How Dumb Are We Going to Get?

In my younger years, I remember seeing a superman Halloween costume with the label: "Warning: Wearing cape does not enable wearer to fly."

    1. I was excited, and wanted to take him up on the offer, but I didn't know where that tongue had been. 2. Well where do YOU think the bald head shine comes from?!? 3. You're right, it DOES taste salty!

    Practical Jokes...

One of my past favorites for not so savy computering friends: If they're running windows, you can do the following. 1. Take and set a screenshot of the computer in normal operating mode (desktop, program, wherever user is likely to leave windows set) 2. Set screenshot as desktop background...

    Anybody tried Chinese knock-off plastic?

Anyone remember tobacco, cotton, and timber farming? Textiles? Furniture? The USA was used for outsourcing cheap labor and land before it WAS the USA.

    Cutting the stock shield

I cut my OEM '03 down into a very short, almost double-bubble profile. I've really enjoyed it, and like the way it looks. I would avoid the flame-polish route. I've seen one forum member who shall remain nameless where the polycarbonate bubbled and hazed as soon as the torch got near it. I...

    Anybody tried Chinese knock-off plastic?

There's more to the equation than just businessmen trying to save a dime. Many US companies want to make too much money to stay competitive. I put jobs out for bid to both US and overseas companies on a daily basis, and the overseas win most of the time. I don't like shipping USA dollars...

    Anybody tried Chinese knock-off plastic?

Photos look like '04 to me. The turn signal is Gen 1.5, and the color would be close to '04 grey. But, that calls the whole auction into question. I'd ask for photos of a true gen 1 side panel, or factor in the cost of the turn signals and realize you'll have to splice the wiring harness. Of...

Roseville, MN - help needed with shipping a part

May have a solution worked out. It's in essence a large drawer slide for a bed-mounted tool box. Part is about 5' long, 2' wide, and 1' tall. If the current option falls through, I'll let you guys know.

Roseville, MN - help needed with shipping a part

Looking at purchasing a piece of hardware in Roseville, but I would need someone to help me pick it up and get it onto a freight truck. Anyone in the area with a truck who might help?
