    I need help in Whitehorse

Ken, The first paragraph of your original post sounds like a bad starter. There have been several reports of starters giving problems only when hot. They are very slow to turn over, and draw way too much current, resetting the dashboard. Most likely to happen when stopping for gas in the...

    Welcome Everyone

I'm down, you coming to visit? There used to be an administrative account that no longer exists. Plus I like the number 2.

    0 to 100 MPH in....?

FWIW, and IIRC, Cycleworld used to list the '03 FJR at 6.3 seconds.

K&N Air Filter long-term side effects

Everyone should remember this is a posting of opinion. I don't see Jeff telling anyone they should immediately remove their K&N and throw it in the garbage. He's merely sharing the information he learned from his experiences. A single point of failure can not determine causality. A lack of...

K&N Air Filter long-term side effects

Maybe not, but Metzlers make the baby Jesus cry. ;)

Buying an '03 tomorrow, any advice?

Here's what *I* would do if I were in your situation (I own an '03): 1. Change out for new: tire, battery, brake and clutch lines, all fluids and filters. I would, and did, opt for stainless lines, and particularly enjoyed the clutch feel improvement. The factory service interval for these is...

    Riding without touching the bars

On a serious note, try loosening the axels and pinch bolts, and re-torquing in the correct sequence.

    FJR Transmission Slip

I'm not sure you guys are on the right page. When I read canyon carver's description of the problem, it sounds more like clutch slip than the transmission kicking out of gear because of incomplete dog engagement. Canyon Carver: Could you please be more descriptive about the problem? Are you...

roads to ride around boone area

When I hosted EOM in 2006, we centered the event in Boone. All of the ride maps are still online and available here. There's several good rides of various lengths.

Is my bike giving my Cancer?

For anyone with a hint of belief in that website, you should ask the author the following questions: 1. Why is there zero data showing any measurable reduction in ELF EMF by using your product? You sell the meters, seems to me you could show some numbers to back up your claims. 2. Where is...

    04 down for the count!

=] No calling out! I was just offering a different opinion. We men are still allowed to have those, right? BTW, HiYa! I haven't seen you in a while.

    04 down for the count!

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. I had to have my frame replaced after a "minor" accident.

    Roger Van Santen needs help

Roger, I know someone up here in Battle Ground who might be interested in re-winding the electro-sport if that was the problem. Please let me know.

    fork seals

I assume by rim you mean wheel. I see no reason for having a wheel replaced to cause damage to the forks. I see no reason for loose axle pinch bolts to cause damage to the forks. You didn't mention if your axle was loose or not. You also didn't mention what cause you to need to replace the...

    Rear Brake Problem

Hi Mike, Which shop did you take it to? If it's the one on Roan on the way to Jonesboro, I haven't been impressed in the past. I hope you took it to Ken's, even though they aren't a yamaha dealer. Not open on Wednesday sounds like Jim's.

    Spiders.. there everywhere!!!

It doesn't help that Sumitomo wiring systems makes the harnesses for Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, and probably Kawasaki as well. That's why they all use the same terminals, and many have the same housings too.

    Yes they were not.

Uhm... wrong place. There are no nuts involved, the screws go directly into the lock. Rivets wouldn't work. No. On the outside of the bag -> Lift the handle that allows the lid to open, and look at the underside. You'll see a latch that rotates as you turn the key. The screws in...
